STAY CLEAR OF THIS PHARMACIST: Ms Runali Amir. On Friday, Oct. 29th my doctor prescribed my usual medication and electronically sent it to the Walgreens Pharmacy in the Millburn Mall which I normally use. They were out of this medication so I had to switch my prescription to Walgreens on Springfield Ave. in Maplewood. At this point, it was now Monday, Nov. 1st and I was completely out of my medication. I called the Maplewood pharmacy and they confirmed that my medication was in stock and they had received my prescription. When I arrived at the counter I was told that I could not have the medication until they spoke to my doctor so I asked why. The pharmacist, Ms. Runali Amir told me that I required another medication to go along with the prescribed meds. Again, I asked why and she told me it was state law and protocol. I explained that I’ve been on this medication for more than 3 years and no one has ever told me that or prescribed more medication. I also explained that I was out of medication and that I would suffer without it. She informed me that she called my doctor and was waiting for a call back. At this point it was 4:30pm so I went home and informed my doctors staff about my dilemma. The evening went by and I never received a phone call or text from Walgreens which is the norm when your meds are ready for pickup. Last evening I spent the entire night awake and severely ill so when the store opened I called and they told me my prescription was ready for pickup. I went to the store, picked up my meds and spoke to Ms. Amin asking her where the other medication was that she was looking to give me. She stated that I didn’t need it as per my doctors instructions. That was exactly what I told her the prior day. I explained that she is not my doctor and that her job is to dispense meds and not to prescribe them. I told her that her job is to assist patients and not make life harder on them which she purposely did. To add insult to injury, the prescription was cleared and ready last night but they purposely did not text me to tell me that it was ready for pickup since my doctor cleared it that same night. She was rude and all that running around was totally unnecessary so today I filed a legal complaint against her so that no other patient will have to go through what I went through just because she needs to have control. She is an order taker and not licensed to prescribe meds, just dispense them. I’ve spoken to a few other people and they have also complained about Ms. Amin so I’m not surprised. Save your time, trouble and embarrassment by NEVER picking up your prescriptions from Ms. Amin and this pharmacy. You can use a much friendlier Walgreens on Vauxhall Road in the Millburn Mall. The entire staff there is exceptional especially Marcus and the other pharmacists. Stay clear of this pharmacy if you need your medications in a timely manner and without any lies being told to you just to have control. She should have her...
Read moreI used to frequent this Walgreens because it's near where I live, but over the years, the service has become less than mediocre. On Dec. 6, 2020 I scheduled an appointment for the flu shot (my first time coming for this service because my PCP is booked). I arrived on Dec. 7, 2020 at my scheduled time around 1:30pm and I stood on a line with just me in it and the pharmacy associate refused to look up and acknowledge that I was even waiting in line. After standing there a whole 3 minutes by myself and watching the pharmacist walk right from behind the counter past me, the associate asked if she could help me. I told her why I was there and she told me the pharmacist went on break and won't be back until after 2pm. I told her I scheduled an appointment in advance. The associate told me that they don't really pay attention to online appointments and that I would have to wait for the Pharmacist to come back from break.
I proceeded to leave the location. I will just go to CVS although it's further away.
I gave this location 2 stars only, one for location and one for cleanliness. Other than that, this store does not deserve...
Read moreAbsolutely Terrible. I have never been here without an issue. The wait time is always insane. They’ve managed to have a problem with every one of my RX’s.
And don’t try to call on the phone! They leave you on hold for 20 minutes and then it rings they pick it up and hang up on you.
Example, they’re out of an RX that was called in on Friday. It is Monday, no update on the RX. Can’t trust them to order it on their own (you’d think it would be automatic— they’re out of it so they order more and fill your script. Nope made the mistake of making that assumption and learned the hard way) I have been on hold trying to ask them to make sure they order this script they’re out of (aka make sure they do their job) I have been on hold since 11AM. It is 11:50 I have been hung up on twice. So now I am going to have to show up at the pharmacy wait on line for 30 mins after being on hold an hour just to make sure they order a prescription that was already called in.
I live around the corner so I come here for “convenience” but it is probably the worst pharmacy I have...
