The MINECRAFT movie came out today so there was no planning for a huge crowd. We waited for sometime to get popcorn and when I asked for a drink holder they did not have any on hand the girl went walking around I'm assuming looking for one. On our way to our seats another movie goer had their toys on the floor so we waited for them to pick it up so we could get to our seats (this happened three times). While watching the movie two in front of us continue to share photos passing the phone to each other even though the theater tells you NO PHONE during the movie.
I ordered the XL popcorn bag so I could get a refill. Going to the concession waiting for the child to pick up the toys the lines were so very long but there was a big group of people in line I WAITED in line for almost 30 minutes to get a refill. At one point I wanted to give up but I paid for the XL to get a refill so I went to one of the other movie theater people (they were checking on people scanning tickets) she asked me what I wanted her to do. I said I do not know I am missing the movie. She took the bag and waited in line but they were not assisting her and another female came along asking what was going on I assume she explained what was going on and took the bag from her. She had me follow her to a register and asked for my phone number for the refill. I told her my phone number and she asked me if I bought the popcorn today? Lol I said yes I did. Which she replied it is not showing on your account but we will refill it. I was so confused about that. I said what? I purchased the XL bag so I can get a refill. She said I was supposed to give them my phone number to get a refill which I DID NOT KNOW it does NOT say that anywhere and when I was purchasing it they should have asked for my phone number and told me that. She wanted me to throw someone under the bus and asked me to point out the person who did it which I said I do not remember who it was. As she was asking me it felt like they weren't going to refill my popcorn. She said "WE WILL DO IT THIS ONE TIME".
I spent 30 minutes and missed that portion of the movie so I suggest NOT trying to get the XL bag or bringing a bag to put the popcorn in and getting the refill right away before going into the theater.
Heading to my seat it was dark and I had to watch for light to show so I can make sure the toys were not on the floor.as I made my way back to my seat. After the movie was done we were getting our stuff together and I used my phone lighting to look for stuff and the chairs were dirty, there were candy wrappers and stuff stuck to the bottom of the seats.
It's been a long time since I've gone to the movies and I am not going back it was the worst experience. Being told I did not purchase something like I'm trying to get something for free. NO I'm sorry for this I'll get it done so you can go back to your...
Read moreI went to go watch Encharted and was surrounded by a lot of people sneezing coughing etc.. I then went to ask to switch seats spoke to (Megan) manager and said there are no seats available. Didn’t say we can change the time for a different movie but she would give me 2 passes after I had purchased 5. I said that was fine so she wrote my name down and said next time you come you can come to the front and we will be able to give you tickets , I called today to let her know we are going she stated she did not remember our conversation she asked if I had the tickets still I said yes she then said let me place you on hold came back 12 min later and said sorry but I can’t verify your information 1 she did not ask for my name to even verify information 2 she was rude 3 she seemed like she was having a bad day and was being lazy. I will contact corporate and let them know she needs to be re trained on her customer service skills and needs to be polite when speaking to customers I have plenty enough to purchase tickets on my own but it’s the principle that what she said she would do she did not do then she stated if this were to happen then usually we give you tickets before you leave well that shows she did not do what usually is done in my situation I’m sure when she reads the review she will remember the...
Read moreCame to see Penguins of Madagascar here last night and it was my first time to this theater and a Harkins brand location as I live in Austin but am visiting family in town.
I was pleasantly surprised. The theater facade looks like it is fairly new and other than the weird layout of the parking lot and parking entrance access, no real gripes to be had about this place.
There was a huge line, but all the automated ticket kiosks were open, so I went to see if they were working and they were, so I didn't understand why the line at the window when I bought my tickets in under 2mins with a zero wait time.
The theater lobby is very clean as was the concession stand and as far as theater food pricing goes, on the more reasonable end. I got a "kid combo" (popcorn, small drink and fruit snack) for $4.75.
The theater itself was very clean as well and the seats didn't look worn. There was no one in the theater when we walked in 15mins before the movie started (it started filling in once the previews began) and we got primo seats (right in front of the bars) and the seats rock back, so they were comfortable.
