Initially I would’ve given the store a 5 star rating had it not been for one bad interaction with one employee. They do have a large selection of cheap merchandise and absolutely everything you need for Beauty and hair supplies. Something changed in the last 8 months since I had been going to the store. The staff was usually pleasant and there is an old woman who works the register who was always nice and never combative.
I walked in to the store and the alarm sensory went off. A Asian woman who I had never seen in the store before immediately shouted I need to see in your purse. I immediately told her she has no right to search my belongings or person. After having my bag scanned and checked I proceeded to attempt to find my product only to look to my left and see the same women standing next to me following me around the store.I immediately walked out of the store.
There was a young woman working the front register who justified my bag being checked and stated I probably made a previous purchase and they may have left the sensor on. Even this justification does not excuse being profiled and followed through a store where I am positive I have spent hundreds of dollars.
I understand people steal. I also understand what racial profiling is. I’m highly offended by the accusatory approach by staff.
You can buy the same made in China products at any flea market, hair store, Walmart or Target. I guess they fail to realize store go out of business and other places sell the exact same products.
Update
I was followed around the wig department by the same woman she usually has burgundy hair and she’s balding on the top of her head. I was looking at their annual pictures of thieves and she asked me if I actually knew the individuals in the picture. I was on the phone with my friend who happened to be a sheriff and we both laughed and were astonished that somebody would be so fold to ask that type of question. There is only one woman in particular that always follows you around the store and always argues with you about the price on the merchandise even though she is simply an employee and not married to anyone or related to anyone in...
Read moreI had a disappointing experience at US Beauty in Mart recently. I came in looking to purchase a significant number of items and noticed that one of the products was priced higher in the store than it was online. When I asked about a discount, as I know many stores offer discounts for bulk purchases, the woman working there—who I believe was of Chinese descent—was dismissive. When I mentioned that other stores provide discounts in these situations, she acted as if she didn’t believe me, responding with a sarcastic “Really?” Her attitude came across as unprofessional and dismissive of a genuine question. She also made a comment about discounts only being available to licensed beauticians , which was confusing. I firmly believe that if a customer is able to purchase a product, they should be treated equally and offered the same opportunities for a discount, regardless of whether they have a license or not. Overall, her unhelpful and rude demeanor left a bad impression. It’s unfortunate because I was ready to spend a significant amount of money but decided to take my business elsewhere. I won’t be returning to this store and wouldn’t recommend it to others.
Response to owners response: Let’s take the focus off the discount because your piss poor “Attitude” is the reason I’m not coming back and it’s also the reason me and 4 of my friends went to another store today and spent 500 between us- and “yes” I bought a brand name dryer and not that junk you got from Temu for 10 dollars and are selling for 120 in your over...
