Apollo Civic Theatre — Attraction in Martinsburg

Beautiful, cozy, historical theatre in the heart of Martinsburg.

The Apollo has this beautiful gold detailing all over the stage area and the balconies that brings the charm from years past to every production. There's been a few renovations done over the years but it still needs a bit more work not only in the areas where customers are but backstage too.

The seats are comfortable and due to it being a smaller theatre, you'll be able to enjoy the shows perfectly wherever you sit. Concessions and ticket prices are not expensive and there is a variety of shows for everyone to enjoy. Directors, performers, and staff are always wonderful making this an excellent place to spend time enjoying some great entertainment and support a local staple.

A few downsides are that bathrooms and concession area are quite small and wait times can become lengthy when theatre is busy. If you're a bigger person, the seats might not be as comfortable. Sometimes noise within the building makes it a bit hard to hear the performances (but this varies between shows.)

This lovely downtown theater has all the charm of times long past. Like most theaters of the era it could use some updates, which is currently underway. The seats are comfortable, the inside is gorgeous, but what makes this theater unique is its incredibly friendly staff. These folks go out of their way to put on excellent shows for all ages. I have been doing theater here for over 2 years now! When you start a show, the whole cast becomes your family. The staff is absolutely amazing! If you or someone you know wants to start doing theater, 100% recommend Apollo. The shows turn out AMAZING!! Even just watching the show makes you feel like you’re apart of it!
