Ok place, not bad, just average.
Went there for dinner with friends, and while the majority of the restaurant is open and airy, we were all seated in the back in a small closed room. Felt a bit like being in a closet, and service area as we had a portable air conditioner unit next to us and just able to see the bar.
They do have what appears to be a full bar, but you are only able to order drinks from the menu as they are unable to make anything not on the menu.
The waiter was quirky, showed up as we were seated and immediately asked what we wanted to drink before we had a chance to look at the drink menu. Some ordered drinks right away, others had to wait a while before he returned. Same with the appetizers and meals, kind of quirky. We did ask to split the check between couples, he said “I’ll do all that at the end. He was having problems with the iPad he was using to take our order, and kept futzing and making excuses rather than just jot down what we wanted and figure it out later. He did split the bill at the end, however it was a few minute process of asking and confirming who had what. He then brought our check while we were still waiting on the deserts we had ordered, again…very quirky.
The food was average, not bad but not great. For appetizer had the veggie crispy rolls, which were greasy. For the meal I had the Krapow fried rice, and while it had good flavor, it was extremely greasy. Spice level was good, and they did ask what level we wanted which is always important at a Thai restaurant. Others ordered a variety of dishes, again all good but not great. My wife had the Thai fried rice which was flavorful but again also very greasy.
We ordered deserts, I had green tea ice cream, which came topped with whipped cream, sprinkles and a cherry…I just wanted a bit of ice cream, not a kids Sunday. The actual ice cream was bland, not the normal strong green tea flavor. Another couple had the sticky rice and mango which was good.
Overall, while not bad, it was not a place I would put on my regular go to list.
Would I go there again…probably not Would I recommend…only if you don’t have any other Thai...
Read moreFirst and foremost, the food at Thai Martinsburg is simply exceptional. The green curry dish I ordered was hands down the best I've ever had. The balance of flavors was perfection, with just the right amount of spiciness and a medley of fresh herbs and spices that created a tantalizing aroma. Every bite was a revelation, and I found myself savoring every morsel. It's clear that the chefs at Thai Martinsburg have mastered the art of Thai cuisine.
And let's not forget the Pad Thai! This classic dish is a benchmark for any Thai restaurant, and Thai Martinsburg did not disappoint. The noodles were perfectly cooked and had a wonderful chewiness to them. The combination of tamarind, peanuts, and vegetables created a harmonious blend of sweet, tangy, and savory flavors that danced on my taste buds. It was an absolute pleasure to indulge in such a well-executed Pad Thai.
Aside from the incredible food, the service at Thai Martinsburg was impeccable. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. They were more than happy to answer any questions I had and made excellent recommendations. It's evident that they genuinely care about their customers' experience and take pride in delivering top-notch service.
The ambiance of the restaurant is also worth mentioning. Thai Martinsburg exudes an inviting and cozy atmosphere, with its tasteful decor and comfortable seating. Whether you're dining with friends, family, or even on a romantic date, this place provides the perfect setting for a memorable evening.
In conclusion, Thai Martinsburg in West Virginia is a hidden gem that deserves every bit of praise. The mouthwatering green curry and Pad Thai dishes alone are worth a visit, but when combined with the attentive service and delightful ambiance, it truly becomes an experience to cherish. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone craving an authentic taste of Thailand. Trust me, you won't be...
Read moreGreat spot if you like Thai food!! Restaurant is built into an older house so the atmosphere was really nice, cozy. Plenty of space and the dining areas are throughout this old, beautiful house. We sat in the room that had 2 older fireplaces which are no longer in use but loved the old brick look with the modern feel of the decor.
Service was friendly and attentive. I ordered the beef salad and it was just what I needed! We don’t have a good Thai spot near us so I had been missing a good beef salad. The beef was perfectly cooked and presentation was really nice too. We also got the calamari, which was cooked perfectly.
For main entrees we had the beef drunken noodle and kra pow chicken. Both came out and again, looked so nice. There were lightly fried basil leaves on too for garnish. My drunken noodle was perfect. All veggies were cooked so they were slightly crunchy. Everything was clearly made fresh and you can taste the difference! Portions were generous.
We really enjoyed dinner but forgot to leave room for dessert! (I did enjoy a Thai tea though, which is almost like a liquid dessert for me). Definitely next time we will leave room though. This is a great Thai spot and I highly recommend it! Food was great, service was excellent too. We will be...
