First time customer. The place was recommended to me by a friend, ironically. Upon entering the store there were no employees to greet me from the counter. There was one person in the store whom I thought was just another collector looking at and sorting their cards at the table. This however, was the employee. He did not even acknowledge me when I walked in the door. I had to ask "is anyone here?" Before I got a condescending "I'll be with you in a moment." When he did come to the register, in the same condescending tone he said "how can I assist you?" I said "I have some old Yu-Gi-Oh and MTG cards I'd like to sell if you guys buy. He proceeded to tell me that they do, but, he doesn't "SPECIALIZE" in Yu-Gi-Oh or MTG, that I would have to wait until Friday to speak to someone with more experience and knowledge in those TCG sets. Unfortunately I do not have the luxury of that time, as I am moving and could have used some quick funds while cutting you guys the better deal. Boy did you miss a deal! I have multiple L.O.B set legend of Blue-eyes cards ranging from near mint, to mint condition, a few blister mints and a large collection of legendary and mythic MTG cards! That I was looking to sell at discounted...
Read moreI had a really disappointing experience at Mamba Collectibles in Martinsburg. First of all, their trade-in policy is ridiculous, they only offer 60% of a card’s value for store credit and an insulting 40% if you want cash. That’s the lowest I’ve seen anywhere, and I’ve dealt with a lot of shops and online buyers. To make things worse, one of the guys there tried to sell me a Slowpoke card for nearly double what it’s worth, claiming it was a “misprint.” It wasn’t. It was just off-center, which is not the same thing. Anyone who knows cards knows that centering issues don’t make something rare, if anything, it lowers the grade and value. A real misprint is something like a card with another card’s art or text overlaid, not basic QC issues. Overall, I’d avoid this place if you’re looking for fair value or knowledgeable, honest sellers. There are way better options online and even locally. Don’t waste your time...
Read moreI have just (unfortunately) recently got back into collecting pokemon cards. Just looking for some cheap cards i think look cool to start. But seeing as pokemon tcg is huge right now no retail store has them because scalpers are getting them all. Looking at the prices at this place, I feel like they are part of that problem. I understand not selling at retail to make money but the prices are much higher than market value in this place. It's a shame when even LGS' care more about a quick buck than getting people...
