Taste of Reggae 2 — Restaurant in Martinsburg

I am a truck driver and I have had Jamaican food from a lot of places and this has By far been the worst I have ever had. I don't even know where to start. I honestly had to look at what I ordered because what I was eating was flavorless.

I placed the order through Uber Eats and the food arrived hot. Now I ordered jerk chicken... where was the jerk seasoning I have no idea, but it was not on the chicken. The side was steam cabbage it to was not seasoned, but that wasn't my problem. My problem was we gave little to no effort. It was a thick slice of cabbage with stem... we didn't even bother to cut it. The Rasta Pasta was the biggest disappointment. It was dry, sticky and tasteless. The sauce, I feel like it was store bought.

I don't write many reviews and I have never written a bad one before because normally I just wouldn't patronage an establishment but this was really bad.

I don't even think a Jamaican made this or I'd they did they are cooking for the area maybe. I just never had Jamaican food that didn't have any favor.

Hopefully this was an off day but I will not ever order...

Totally caught off guard!! BLUF: This is MUST EAT FOOD, WHAT A HIDDEN GEM!! After a somewhat disappointing order process with the music blaring I ordered the jerk chicken dark with rice and peas, the curry goat with mac and cheese, and the oxtails with plantains OMG, I WAS NOT EXPECTING THIS. THE FLAVORS OR EXCELLENT THE MAC AND CHEESE WAS DELICIOUS THE PLANTAINS AND I AM NOT A PLANTAIN FAN WAS PURE FANTASTIC. Curry goat was plenty flavorful they understand the bones so they more made up for it with the portion! The oxtails we're beautiful. A little boney but that's oxtails... God help them if they use the same recipe on a boneless chuck roast... (Hint hint) The jerk chicken would have been great hadn't been fresh, but I understand the constraints. The sauce that they gave along with it really married together well I mean this would have been great had it been fresh. There was a light smoking is with it but it was nice. Value: I would like to know when everything will be fresh and coming off of the grill short of that I think that it was a nice...

I honestly have to question the high ratings. My experience was less than bad. This is by far the worst Jamaican food I’ve ever tasted! We purchased brown stew chicken, jerk chicken, and oxtail. The brown stew chicken looked like left over scraps and was very bland to include the frozen heated up in the microwave mac and cheese and tasteless rice and peas. I have no idea what was on the bottom of the jerk chicken and the plantains were mushy. I paid over $70 for the worst food ever. When I took the food back, we learned no one was in the restaurant preparing the food. The cashier was the only one there and had to call the manager on the phone to inquire about a refund and we were only credited $24 because my Jamaican husband said oxtail was the only thing that was not too bad.
