I've been trying to decide all week whether I liked Diamondback or Orion more, and imo, they tie in superiority as the best rides in the park. They both have unique features to offer, and though Diamondback may be shorter height wise, it has so much to offer. A wonderful, impactful hyper. I rode this six times, and truthfully, my first ride wasn't that great. I'd just come from Orion, hopped on, and it was so incredibly rattley that I came off with a raging headache, wondering why everyone was raving about this thing. But because the line was short, I hopped back on, got a different colored train, and I got it. The ride was incredibly smooth, the airtime you get is off the charts, and it was just an incredible feeling coming down from that first hill. Out of the six rides I did, only once more did I have that same rattley experience. So I think there's a specific colored train (it might be the green one, but I could be wrong) that offers a poorer experience. And I remember reading about that, that depending on what train you get, it can make or break the experience for you. If you get a smooth ride, I may dare to say this tops Orion just by a smidge. If not, it's still super fun, but a bit painful. The seating for this is a little weird with how it's laid out. But no matter where you sit, you'll have a fun time. I rode in the back each time and it was really great back there. You feel mist from the splashdown in the back rows as well, which is nice on a hot day. Also, I'll add that the lines for this are never horrible. It's either a walk on on slow days, or maybe 20ish minutes when it's more busy. Regardless, the crew is incredible fast and efficient and gets those trains sent out ASAP.

This is probably my favorite roller coaster of all times. It’s thrilling it’s fast and it’s Hella fun. The best part is when you pull up on the break run there is a roof right next to you where you can throw random stuff and tell other people that you were there by what you threw and have them look and see if it’s there. I threw my wallet with all my credit cards and license up there as well as my car keys and a Rolex watch. Then next time I went back I took a photo of it and posted it online to show others what I threw up there . If you look closely in my photos, you can see a bunch of hair ties and miscellaneous stuff on the roof

It's still the best ride at KI! The only coaster in the world that has a splashdown! If you sit in the last row, you can cool off 😎 Diamondback is a steel roller coaster located at Kings Island in Mason, Ohio. Manufactured by Bolliger & Mabillard, the ride opened in 2009 as the first hypercoaster to feature a splashdown effect and the first B&M roller coaster at Kings Island. Wikipedia Height: 230′ Max speed: 80 mph Height restriction: 4′ 6″ Capacity: 1,620 Opened: April 18, 2009 Duration: 3 minutes Track length: 5,282′

Wow. Diamondback was really awesome. The long train plus the fact I accidentally got too much room completely changed my opinion of the ride. I still definitely liked it before, but now I love it. This time I sat on the inside seat on the back car. The roughness on the first two valley's was much more manageable, and that airtime was mental. I was out of my seat the whole way down the first drop. It genuinely freaked me out, but what an exhilarating experience. This ride absolutely roasts Orion. The first drop has better airtime and the rest of layout is vastly superior in every way. Orion only has one good airtime hill and it delivers air comparable to the weaker ones on Diamondback. I one hundred percent recommend Diamondback....

Diamondback is an incredible hyper coaster that delivers thrills from start to finish. The first row gives you breathtaking views and the feeling of diving straight into the drops with nothing blocking your sight. The last row is even wilder, pulling you over the hills with intense airtime that makes every drop feel bigger. The ride is fast, smooth, and filled with huge camelback hills that keep you floating out of your seat. The splashdown finale is a fun and unique touch that makes the ride stand out. Have ridden the diamond back multiple times. It’s also a very re-rideable coaster, since every row offers exciting experience. Diamondback is easily one of the best rides at Kings Island and a must for any...
