The cashier Lilly was very rude to me. At the end of our order, she told us our total without ever asking if we had an advantage card (which wasn’t a big deal). We asked if we could give her our number because we got a lot of deals, and she instructed us to “do it ourselves on the screen”. My boyfriend tried to enter my number, but there’s an issue with my advantage card and it only comes up when the cashier puts it in. I told her this, and she very rudely says “I don’t know what to tell you. Go to customer service.” When my boyfriend asked “isn’t it part of your job to look up our advantage card?” She decided to be polite to him, asking him “she has $7 off on her card, do you want to use it?” Instead of asking me, apologizing to me or acknowledging me.

Today 5/21/22, I opened a gallon of milk that I purchased on 5/14/22 with an expiration of 5/26/22 and it was spoiled. The gallon of milk i bought 2 weeks ago at the gas station with an expiration date of 5/16/22 is still good. Every gallon of milk or chocolate milk that I buy from this store spoils before the expiration date. This particular giant eagle is garbage and I will no longer shop here

Shopped Wednesday b4 Thanksgiving. A couple of examples of what we found. More available… I asked for help to find a bag of romaine that wasn’t rotting. I was told everything was out and she walked away… Great service!

Mamaging a store is not easy and I admit, there can be some oops experiences along the way. Being a resident who regularly shops at GE, Marc's, Dave's, ALDI's, Heinen's, Walmart, Target, Costco, Legacy Village, Eton Mall and many other places for the past 10 years, I have something good to say about every store. Because I know they are different in nature and in management. I guess I am sharing something good about GE on this Thanksgiving Day.

Just let me say this before I go further, no one is paying me to share this post and I am, too, am a one-time victim of those strange vegetable-related stories. However, as an individual and as a resident, I felt the need to remind some of us that GE has been improving each year. Please don't disregard their hard work just because of some mistakes.

I agree, some mistakes do make you think, "Come on! What's this? This is a grocery store..." and maybe they couldn't offer you the deal that you have in mind. So what? If you are so bothered by not being able to get the deal you have in mind, take your wheels somewhere else, many people don't just make one stop for good deals. Regarding tha shoping environment: I don't see trash laying around, garbage cans are never overflowing, floor is always shining, products on shelves are always in perfect arrangement, shopping carts are always organized, they even installed new glass doors for the dairy area, no blood is spilling or dripping near the meat department, no scoops of macaroni are being found on the floor near the deli, lights are always on without flickering. Need I say more? Let's learn to make others' day full of hope because we've all heard enough of the negatives from this world is already.

If your standard is equal to that of an OCD person, guess what, that's not GE's problem. If you question why GE can't be like Heinen's, guess what, they don't have to because they are owned by different people and they are targeting different groups of shoppers. It sounds like people who are complaining about GE have been shopping elsewhere and was just blown away by a grocery store that's outside of their usual comfort zone in a one time visit. You know what? That's not GE's problem either.

Lastly, regarding comments on rude employees (one in particular) and self-checkout lane situation, I have to say, "Be a bigger person and plan your trip well". Haven't you met anyone who's rude at your work or across the globe? If you haven't, either you don't remember how extra nice you'll need to be with those customers and then let it go, or you just really need to get yourself out there to meet some people. The scenarios of, "Come on! Do you guys not have eyes?! There are so many people at these checkout lines, you are only opening one more register?" or the "Um, hello? Can anyone just click yes for me cuz' I gotta go~?" are so common. Not a typical GE problem. I've seen it at Walmart, Marc's, ALDI's, Target, and Costco. Maybe not as much at Heinen's because they hire more college kids. But guess, what? That's Heinen's, not every store have to be like Heinen's.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of my dear grocery stores in Mayfield Heights and all around the world. I hope many shoppers would be more considerate of others' hard work and sacrifices before they criticize any store. Put yourself in their shoes, would you like people say these things about you behind your back?

So, relax, get what you need out of the store and be a bigger person while you're at it, then move on. You're in charge of your emotion, so, turn the light on. Go light the world with some positive attitude. Ok?...

This is by far the most poorly operated Giant Eagle I have ever shopped in. I frequent it only because it is so close to home, but I rarely can even pick up just a few items without some kind of mishap: "Sale" signs with the wrong item in the bin they are labeling, many out of stock items on the very first day of a sale, standing in the meat/fish department forever waiting for help while someone on the other side is just wrapping meat and makes no eye contact with you. I have even said, "Excuse me, is someone working this department?" and gotten, " Just hold on a minute Ma'am!" for a reply! lol And watch your expiration dates!! I have found yogurts, Pillsbury biscuits, hot dogs, bagged salads and more WAY overdue. I pointed this out to a manager and they just took the items out of my hand and said they couldn't sell them to me. (Yeah, I wasn't planning on purchasing them!) And now they're replacing more and more of the name-brand items with "Giant Eagle" brands. There is another G.E. not so far away at Legacy Village that doesn't carry as much stock but is much cleaner and well organized. Worth the extra gas if you have to shop big. Appreciate this space to vent and shout out a warning to other shoppers! PS The only reason I gave this store one star is because it wouldn't let me post with NONE. P.P.S. I posted the above review months ago. Just a little update. My husband went there today for the "10 for 10" Dannon Lite Yogurt sale. ONE flavor. ONE. Strawberry Cheesecake. So if you don't like Strawberry Cheesecake guess you're out of luck. Suggestion: Change the big sign outside from Giant Eagle to Giant Fecal because that pretty much describes your inventory, customer service...

I am a fairly passive person, but I feel this experience was handled poorly and was somewhat embarrassing. I have never visited this location before. I was in the area and need to pick a couple things up for dinner. Everything was fine until I reached the checkout line. I had pulled a coupon off an item and handed it to the cashier (because they have been missed in the past). She then yelled at me for removing it. I did't feel like it was a big deal, but I apologized anyway. She would not let it go, continued to yell at me and tell me why I should have not done it. I then proceed to bag my own groceries (which she did not place anything in a bag the entire time, just kept talking) and then I guess she found a $.55 coupon on another item. She then had to announce and continue to yell about how " She found the coupon, not me" and that "She never misses a coupon" blah blah. Again, I am very passive and her being my elder, I refused to engage in her attitude, but feel it was completely uncalled for. I will take my...
