My last visit to this Bob Evans was probably one of my worst dining experiences ever. Me and my girlfriend went in for brunch, and when we ordered, our waitress forgot to ask what sides she wanted with her food. So she came back a few minutes later and asked what sides she would like, okay fair mistake, no big deal. Once the food came my girlfriend discovered her silverware was still dirty, so we asked for new silverware, we waited and then had to ask for it again. My plate was also not clean on the bottom portion, it had dried old food on it which wasn’t appetizing. Also one of the sides that was ordered for my girlfriend was not even prepared by the kitchen and the waitress asked if she still wanted it. Well yes of course she does that’s why she ordered it, so we got that late. I’m not finished yet, so my omelette had not one, but TWO hairs in it! At this point they’re lucky we even paid the bill, because this was an absolute joke, and then the cherry on top of all that is our bill wasn’t even correct and we were overcharged for a combo item that wasn’t entered as the combo price or whatever. The manager did fix this for us before we paid thankfully. The only reason I’m not giving this 1 star is because the waitress was polite and very nice to us through this whole ordeal. I think she was just overwhelmed that morning with too many customers, and I don’t place most of blame on her. I highly suggest this manager up the quality control of this location. If a server called off that morning that’s one thing and I can’t blame anyone for being overwhelmed, but there’s no reason to have dirty dishes and hair in the food. Hopefully things improve in the future because I would like to return, but I’m definitely going to wait quite a while until some new employees hopefully make their way into...
Read moreI'm very dissapointed in the Bob Evans restaurants in this area (Mayfield Heights) and Cedar Road. I try to keep giving them second chances but each and every time it's the same story. Today I ordered a Turkey Dinner, but the delays of not only the Turkey Dinner not coming but also they never even brought out any bread rolls, and the side salad also never came. After 40 mins of just wanting an update and not hearing anything on how much longer I respectfully asked the waitress to please cancel my order. She said she couldn't do that because it would be a loss of food for them, and she walked away. After waiting for another 10 mins, I was going to try to find a way to talk to a manager, but no one was there. I simply could not wait without an update on when the Turkey Dinner would be served. I did relay to the cashier my complaint and she did take off 50%, which I appreciate, however, I still wanted to cancel the order, but they wouldn't allow it, even knowing the meal wasn't even near ready to go. so they insisted on me waiting to box it up and pay 50%, which made me wait even longer. Then when they boxed up the dinner on the way out my cool slaw was missing along with the cranberry sauce that was supposed to go with the Turkey Dinner, and no French dressing for the salad, and no cool slaw that I ordered. I suppose I should have been more patient, but I was not expecting to stay here for so long, and feel that they do not care much about the things that makes bob evans so good, like customer service, drink refills, cranberry sauce with the turkey dinner, serving the dinner salad before the meal, instead of making them wait, and asking the customer if they would like banana bread, rolls,...
Read moreThis is the first negative review I've ever written. It is very disappointing to have to write this one, as we have been coming to this restaurant for over 20 years and have really had wonderful experiences, routinely. However, I feel these problems need to be fixed; and this is a good way to let Management and others know what is happening that is not working here right now. (I looked for comment cards on the table, but they, as well as condiments much-needed, were not present any longer.) The following is not an exaggeration:
We waited very long (just 2 of us) before anyone greeted us, approx 10 minutes, waited about 25 minutes for a waitress to appear after being seated, our food took more than 1 hour to be served (not kidding!), and my "poached" eggs looked like very hard-cooked fried eggs, very dry, even rubbery, and not very appetizing. Upon sitting down, I found my spoon was dirty. After letting our server know, a new one never arrived until approximately the same time as the food was served. Our server did not serve my biscuits with meal, forgetting them (needed for eggs), they got cold, being served before I received my newly-ordered (scrambled, this time) eggs, no butter or honey on table or brought when asked for until I reminded the server they were needed again, about 10 minutes later; but by then, all food was too cold, butter couldn't melt on biscuits, etc. This was the worst experience we've had in any restaurant in years...we hesitate to return. This is so sad, as it was one of our favorite places to visit...
