Visited this store while vacationing from Ohio with my nieces, sister, and sister-in-law (a Texas native) looking for a quinceanera dress. The store was suggested to us by a smaller dress boutique and let me tell you the experience we had was less than pleasant. It felt similar to the scene from "Pretty Woman," with the up & down stares and no welcome as we walked in the door. Upon explaining that we were searching for dresses for a quinceanera the two women that were working told us we would have better luck finding a quinceanera dress at other stores nearby. When we asked if we could look for dresses for ourselves for the event, they said sure and offered no help at all. My sisters and I looked at the dresses that were available but with no assistance, we only looked and weren't able to try anything on. Up north we always hear about "southern hospitality," but the two women that were working that day definitely need a lesson on that and customer service. I couldn't help but notice that when we arrived, the parking lot for the store was empty, and I now feel that I know the reason. If you are looking for a PLEASANT dress-shopping experience for a prom, wedding, shower, or quinceanera, Glitz & Glamour is NOT the place, but there are plenty of other stores in the McAllen area that will serve you. This place needs a new receptionist, the older lady who is in the front has an attitude of being forced to be there, zero customer service skills, it even puts one in a bad mood just by the way this lady answers questions. I purchased a dress and when alterations were made, I noticed big red stains on the zipper that I had not noticed before alterations were done. When I informed the lady she responded “that is why the dress had a discount”. I was so disappointed because I was never informed that the dresses that had a discount were because of damage, even though most of the dresses with or without discount look like if they have been used.
