Horrible venue. Horrible experience. Staff is highly unprofessional. That is an understatement. I purchased merchandise and the staff did not know what they were doing and charged me four times hundreds of dollars each time. As I was sitting in my seat trying to enjoy the show that I paid for a staff member came in to try to rectify their mistake and asked for my paid for items. They made an error at the merchandise counter. So in order to cover their mistake they ruined my show. They then took my card again and did not return it until my sister had to leave the concert resulting in her missing half of the concert to get my card back. Please note the only reason I gave them another card was because they insisted I come out of the show and missed the show to rectify their mistake. I told him that I could see them after the show and the young woman kept harassing me. They literally asked for my paid for merchandise during the concert and were harassing me throughout the concert. To make matters worse the staff could not organize themselves enough to have the people who sat in front of us and in front of the row in front of that find their seats in the middle of the show and kept disrupting the entire concert again. It was at least 20 to 30 minutes. Saw half a show if I was lucky as I then got an alert from my card company of fraud during the show. I drove miles and miles to be at the show and rented an area hotel. We were truly truly devastated. . The situation still has not been rectified. Nobody has reached out even though I've been told that they would. The worst experience in the world. And I'm still as I said waiting for money that they took from my cards to the tune of hundreds of dollars. What a scam. I was told Dave would call me back and I know that he is the Manager. I called and talked to a staff member that was aware of the situatian. I never heard back from Dave or anyone.. I've emailed him and Bud. The other Dave the gentleman at the door was kind and thoughtful but other than that..... Hopefully the people that I purchased all this merchandise for at the show can enjoy it. I know that this is been a horrible experience. Also please note if you have any hesitations about slipping and falling stay away from this venue. The night we went to the show was icy and they took terrible care of the steps and such and there were people that had special needs that were trying to get in and out that could not even manage. I will always recommend Engelbert. He is truly amazing I wish I had gotten to enjoy him. I would suggest if you had to see a show here go orchestra only and stay away from the staff. I personally though would...
Read moreThe location is a little, odd. Being in Medford, MA, there really isn't any parking to speak of around the actual venue. We thankfully stayed at the Hyatt down the road which is 8 minutes walking distance and saved us the parking issue. We walked down to Dunkin' on the corner before our show, got to the venue and the staff allowed us to sit there and drink our drinks before entering. The staff were friendly and helpful. You arrive into the venue and we had Orchestra seating. The bar is in the immediate entrance and can become instantly congested as you have to push through to get to the stairs for the orchestra. Up the stairs and the usher seemed lost and couldn't find our row, but she did. The seating is cramped and reminds me of a very old movie theater with not theater styled seating. I could not see around the person in front of me as the seats are lined up exactly in a row and not staggered.
Immediately upon walking in the main show area, It smelled highly of urine. I couldn't explain the smell, but it permeated the theater. There are these very odd and strange black round turning plates (best I can explain it) in the aisle rows on the ground in front of each seat. We had no idea what they were, except perfect tripping devices for people trying to squeeze by other patrons. Many times, the people next to us had to keep getting up and leaving, the seating is so packed that everyone had to get up and stand to allow people past. It created this awful ballgame group wave effect where people were constantly standing and sitting creating an obstructed view. So the view of the stage was terrible.
The sound system was also terrible. One warm up comedian was so loud and bellowed, and the main stage guy was quiet and couldn't hear him. Music from the DJ kept getting louder and quieter without any real balance.
Leaving the venue was easy, however I noticed a TON of trash overflowing the waste bins on the way out. After getting out of the venue around 10pm, we went to the surrounding areas in search of food. There are only oriental dining places opened at this hour serving food(Friday night) open around here and we opted for Korean. Your options are Korean, chinese, Japanese /sushi are literally your only options. But with limited menu as this town shuts down at 10pm realquick. Good luck finding any source of food here. And I know, we walked to almost every 'bar' that was open asking if they had a kitchen open. Spoiler Alert -...
Read moreZERO STARS! I purchased 4 tickets for the Bob Marley show on Dec 26. We had all been looking forward to the show for a while. We arrived early and dealt with parking and the hundreds of people in a total cluster outside in the cold and dark with ice and snow still on the ground. Our seats were located up a wooden riser and in the corner against 2 walls, not accessible unless you are short and thin and maybe 20. Anyway, my Mom, who uses a cane, fell off the riser step and is still not okay after a week of scans and X-rays. Broke her thumb in 2 places, cut her nose, and hurt both knees. The venue staff did not pick her up, someone else did, but moved us to a nearby seat so she could catch her breath. Within minutes, the staff made us get up because she was in someone's seat, bleeding on her nose and still shaken 20 minutes before the show. We were left to try to get her out of the venue ourselves, hurt, amongst hundreds of people outside in the dark trying to come in. Our car was in a lot until 10, so we had to get a taxi to get her home to assess her injuries in the light. Saturday was spent at the hospital, as was yesterday all day. Hopefully, she will heal fast. This venue needs to remove that riser in the back and the seats and come up with a traffic plan that is safe. Or maybe just close. Seems the staff were not trained in emergencies like that and as far as I could see, no way to get an ambulance near there. The most horrible night of 2024 goes to the Chevalier...
