Short Version: Store gets 3 stars, Warehouse gets 1 star (0 if possible); Ashley Furniture is better option...provided 5 star service in store and at warehouse
Detailed Version: If you need to save money and are willing to deal with poor service, then feel free to do business here. We were preparing to move to another state still completely shut down, so we opted to purchase furniture in Memphis and transport it via U-Haul. We had to search throughout the store for quite some time to find assistance once we found a dining room set. We didn't struggle to find help because employees were helping other customers, they just weren't on the sales floor. It literally seemed like the door to the store was unlocked for shoppers to enter and all employees had gone home. Despite this we purchased the dining room set anyway. We were given instructions to call the warehouse in Whitehaven at least an hour prior to coming out there. We attempted to call the warehouse 9 times throughout the day with no success at getting someone to answer the phone. I eventually called the store to see if the number we were given was incorrect. The woman who answered was "confused" as to why I was calling and said I should've just gone to the warehouse without calling ahead. Upon arriving at the warehouse, we waited an hour and a half to get just 3 boxes. To make matters worse, the employee who pulled our items in the warehouse was NAPPING on top of a box containing the pieces to assemble the chairs! I asked if this was common practice at this warehouse and demanded they open the box to ensure the items weren't damaged. I was then told that if they opened the boxes they would have me on video making them open the boxes, and they would say this command caused any discovered damaged. I told them that the same video could be rewound a little further to show their coworker taking a nap on my purchase. After this exchange they agreed to open the boxes and there was no damage. I would say that I could do business with this company in the future, but the warehouse experience has definitely made Royal Furniture a "NO" for my family. We purchased our bedroom & living room furniture from Ashley Furniture, which was a 5-star experience both in store and at...
Read moreWe have had a bad experience with Royal Furniture in Cordova. The facts of our experience are listed below.
· We went to the Cordova Location and chose furniture. We chose a bedroom set, a dining set, and a living room set. The cost, which we paid right away, was $ 4000.
· We were told that our bedroom set was ready and available, and the dinning set and living room sets would have to be ordered and available in 4-6 weeks (Late July-Early August).
· When we went to arrange delivery for the bedroom set (supposedly available), on mid-July, we were told that it was not. We then had to go back and choose another bedroom set that was to be delivered on July 25.
· July 25 came, and the bedroom set was not delivered. I had to go back to the store so they could setup delivery, which happened on July 28, a day for which I had to stay from work. The bedroom set was missing the mirror.
· After several calls to ask for the rest of the furniture, I was told the dining room set would be delivered on August 29, and the living room set on mid-September.
· On August 29, the delivery team delivered most of the living room set (missing the loveseat), and the dining room set. The delivery warehouse called the day before and gave a timeframe of “any time after 10 AM”, they delivered at 4PM. The chairs (6) for the dining room set were defective in that they had uneven legs (off by inches). Also, in the delivery process, the delivery team damaged my front door frame.
· I was supposed to receive the rest of the furniture on September 5, including replacement chairs. The replacement chairs were also defective, and nothing else was delivered. We are hoping we receive our items the coming week so this can...
Read moreI called this company maybe 2wks ago bc I was looking for furniture. I spoke to this lady named Deon and she nearly "hey girl" me to death. They didn't have the furniture I was looking for and I told her not run my credit. She said ok and she'd tell her manager. Why did I get a call almost 2wks later with her telling me what I got approved for! I was confused and asked what did she mean. I said it told you I decline the credit check . When I aske ld to speak with her manager she said he was with a customer and I asked for the address and she told me to Google it!!! I drove to the store and asked for the manager, Brian Henderson. He stated to try and cover for her and say he doesn't remember. She may have told him. Then he gives me corporates number. The last tries to politic me and say when you do a application or comes from corporate we can't unpull a credit report. I said I knew that but did corporate run it or did Brian? When corporate sends the apps does Brian have a choice to run or not run the report? She says yes! I said I just wanted you to see the negligence. I've filled a complaint with the credit bureau! Royal on Germantown couldn't flush my toilet for me! Don't GO THERE and check your credit after you speak to someone bc they may just run your credit report. FYI when I got to the store it was EMPTY. They were trying to avoid me. Update They said once you do the application you gave permission, but then they also said you can make the decision to cancel it bc corporate only sends the applications to the office. Don't believe the hype from the company. Complete scammera. The corporate office EVEN admitted that the application did not have to...
