My wife called here to see if we could have an Azalea plant sent to a funeral service. She had found a beautiful large plant through an online flower pusher for around $60, unfortunately, the pot that came with the plant was something we did not want to send to a funeral service(i.e. blueberries and fruit). She had decided to call Bank of Memories/Flowers in Menomonee Falls as we are close and it is a local shop and thought why not support a local business instead of online bargain hunting. After calling and explaining the situation about the online plant/price and not liking the pot, the employee told her that they did not have a "large" but could replace that with "2x mediums" in a very nice container with "extra greenery". My wife had said that it sounded beautiful the way it was described and she was also assured that "a florist shop has a much higher quality product than buying online AND the florist shop ends up coming out better as they only get a small portion of online sales. Hearing this my wife was excited to do business, even though the outcome had almost doubled by the end of their conversation compared to the large online plant for $60(bank of flowers had charged my wife $117 for 2 "mediums" but she was okay with it.....sigh. When we arrived at the service, my wife looked to make sure our plant had arrived okay. To her embarrassment, it was not as promised. The plant did look "okay but NOT $120 okay". As promised there were two Azaleas in a nicer looking basket, but no extra greenery was to be found. Also there was a pink ribbon that had seemed to of given up on being a bow at one time and now was hanging loosely off the pedestal. When she tried to sneak close to untuck and fix this she had flowers, even unopened bulbs simply fall off the arrangement to the floor as if they were fall leaves. Never before have I seen my wife make a beeline AWAY from flowers, this was a first. She was so upset she didn't even want to discuss it with me. I said we should take a picture for reference, but we both decided it was not appropriate to do in our current surroundings as it was up near the casket....... On a side note, you hear a lot about local businesses complaining about losing their business to online retailers and having to close their doors. All I can say is this, we as consumers are looking for the best product in my opinion. While a lot of people go the cheap route, the majority of people want a good product for a half decent price. When we receive a product that looks like it was bought on sale at Walmart and you charge like you are a high end local business, you end up losing the business for good. We don't like it, I'm sure YOU don't like losing it, and we all get a slap in the face having to buy it from China the next time we do...
Read moreSit back, and enjoy my 100% true story about Bank of Flowers. I needed flowers one time, and didn't really feel like ordering off one of the large delivery companies where I pay a "pay this fee" fee. So I went into Bank of Flowers. Not only did I become euphoric from the amazingly fresh flower scent in the air, I had someone greet me kindly and help me get the perfect flowers. This experience was enough to make it so I ordered from them next time I needed flowers, but didn't feel like driving there...which leads me to today. I ordered flowers and despite it being a same day delivery, it was still affordable! THEN, I found out they were delivered about an hour after I ordered...heck, it's raining today and USPS told me my mail may be delayed, but Bank of Flowers didn't let any rain bother them. So what is the lesson you should take from all of my wonderful experiences with BoF? It's simple. Customer service and quality still exists with good products. Some companies still care. BoF is one of those, and if you need flowers you should go there. I'm not saying you HAVE to go there, it's a free country, but you'll have a much better experience if you do! Plus, it's a well researched fact that people that buy BoF Flowers care about special people in their lives more than other flower shoppers* *ok, my true review is now only 98.2% true, some facts in this review can not be verified by...
Read moreThere was no doubt in my mind the florist I wanted to use for my wedding. Five years earlier, Melissa did the flowers for my sister's wedding and they were stunning. So when it came to my wedding day, without hesitation, I set up the appointment. Melissa has a way with flowers and brides. you give her your color and the mechanics in her brain start rolling and months later the outcome is exactly what you want, but could not express. To make my life easier, I added on aisle flowers and centerpieces. I was a do it yourself bride, but when Melissa described the centerpieces with just two Gerber daisies, it was almost easier than I was going to make the centerpieces. She is so helpful and insightful. I ended up saving and preserving all my flowers to use in my home decor because they were amazing! If you are looking for someone to help you add a hint of beauty to your already beautiful wedding, go with Bank...
