We've always enjoyed this area it's basically a group of Mills and hotels that have been built up over the last 25-30 years. The developer basically sold the organization about 2 years ago. Smart man he did it just before the pandemic hit hopefully he got the money out of it that he had put into it. Church landing which I think is kind of the crown Jewel of the development definitely needs a little bit of TLC. They should replace the wood shiplap siding with a type of a fiberglass which would look much better. You can see where there's been a lot of quick repairs made and it doesn't make the place look well. The rooms themselves that we've seen are actually quite nice but again probably could use a little spiffing up with some new furniture and definitely new carpeting because you still have issues where people used to smoke in those rooms. I would say the best thing to do instead of trying to do everything all at once is to Target each individual development such as Mills Chase house and church landing individually and do the refurbishing that way maybe start off at the Mill building and then do Chase house and then finish off at church landing. Church landing being the most elegant of the facilities definitely should be fully refurbished the hall lighting was this type of blinding LED light which is bright but what I would consider kind of cold. A softer lighting with more brass type fixtures I think would look nicer. The other thing that always amazes me about this large development and it's one of the largest in the state I feel is the fact that there is no really good high-end restaurant there. It's pretty much all pub style little restaurants in the various buildings. They do quite a few weddings I just wonder what the food quality is like because we're in a food service business ourselves and I would hope that they're serving them really decent quality food because the stay in church landing it can run you several hundred dollars a night. That to me is extremely expensive for the quality of the furnishings that...
Read moreWe love coming here so much! We always try to make a day of coming here because there is so much to do. There are often events happening through the marketplace, so you can quite easily spend many hours here. Giuseppe's is always our favorite place here to eat because we love the atmosphere. Plenty of shopping to do also! If you are a live free or die NH die hard fan like our family, you will find MANY adorable and custom NH and Lake Winnipesaukee decor that I have not seen anywhere else in the area or state. Jewelry, handbags, books, ice cream, art, and more can also be found here. I could go on and on about how great this marketplace is, but I'd be spoiling the experience for someone who has never been....
Read moreWhat a neat collection of shops. We stayed here for a wedding and the kids liked the candy and ice cream. While the adults enjoyed drinks and food at some of the local restaurants located within. This place is historic looking and features a water fall in the building.
Also, there are many more shops near here such as Hazel Moon Botanicals for your Aromatherapy supplies, Karlins wine store, Innisfree Bookshop, Waukewan Antiques & Used Furniture and many many more.
