Frog Rock Tavern — Restaurant in Meredith

I recently visited with a group of friends, hoping to have a pleasant evening. However, our experience was marred by the rude and disrespectful behavior of both the bar manager and the waitress.

Upon arriving at the bar, we split into two groups, with some of us already engaged in conversation with the locals. When the remaining group arrived, we started ordering drinks at the bar. The bar manager abruptly insisted that we take a seat, disregarding our preference to stay at the bar. The manager's tone was aggressive and unwelcoming, which immediately set a negative tone for our visit.

Half of our group complied and moved to a table, where they placed their drink orders. Meanwhile, the rest of us were still standing at the bar, waiting to be served. It was at this point that the waitress approached to deliver the drinks to the table. One of the guys made a lighthearted comment about the seating situation, which was met with an unnecessarily rude response from the waitress, implying that we were being rude.

When one of our friends tried to explain the manager's behavior in a calm and non-confrontational manner, the response from the manager was condescending and dismissive. It was evident that they had no intention of addressing our concerns or improving the situation.

As we were leaving, we noticed the waitress and the bar manager high-fiving, which left us feeling even more disrespected and undervalued as customers. The bartender's statement that there was nothing he could do and that this behavior was typical of the management only further confirmed our disappointment.

We understand that working in the service industry can be challenging, but there is no excuse for such unprofessional behavior towards paying customers. We hope that management takes this feedback seriously and makes efforts to improve the quality of service and the overall...

Came in to grab a quick bite to eat while walking around downtown. I had eaten here before a few years prior and enjoyed it but this time I was VERY impressed. It had a small bar/townie vibe that’s no thrills but it’s comfortable. I ordered a chicken tender basket with bbq sauce. It was absolutely PHENOMENAL. I was blown away with how good it was. The chicken was high quality , the bbq sauce was some of the best I’ve ever tasted and the fries were large, crunchy and delicious. I got a drink from the bar which was delicious as well. Kelly was our waitress and was attentive and took our order quickly. Whatever Frog Rock is doing they need to keep doing it. I’ll definitely be coming back again and highly recommend it to anyone...

We stopped in here on a visit up to Meredith during our vacation time around the lake. Very chill atmosphere and laid back staff. The front room was a bit noisy for our tastes, but hey, it's a tavern! But the back room was chill and comfortable and had the soccer game on (no sound, thanks!).

We had great attention from the waitress who checked on us and made sure things were good. The food was surprisingly good, with nice variations (such as turkey burgers) and a great selection of salads. Something you don't normally see in basic bar food.
