Church Landing itself was absolutely beautiful with gorgeous views! Was disappointed with service, especially given the cost. My first frustration was that the email confirmation said that check-in was at one location (another hotel down the street owned by Mill Falls), just to find a sign that directed me back up the street to Church Landing. Next, was the cost at check-in despite the rooms being prepaid. It was $38 + tax for each day for their activity fee and another $30 per day for incidentals. Per room, not per reservation. It was also very disappointing that the "free" kayak usage for guests was ONLY from 9-11 am. As frustrating as all that was, the rooms we had were absolutely beautiful! Our balcony looked out over the lake and there was a fireplace in the room. The kids loved the pool, hot tubs and easy access to the lake. They logged many hours of swim time! What did it for me, which is why I will never stay at Church Landing again, came down to the fireplace. I discovered that the fireplace was not working and went down to the central desk on our first night. I let them know it was not working and asked for it to be fixed. The worker asked if I wanted it done that night. I declined as it was very late and my children needed to go to sleep. I informed her that I would be out most of the day and that they could fix it the next day. When we returned, the fireplace was not fixed. I went back to the front desk and let them know it had not been fixed. The next day, I asked again in the morning and informed them that I would be gone from 9am-7pm and they could fix it. Again, when we returned it was still not fixed! Upon checkout, I informed the desk that I was not happy that it had never been fixed, despite asking twice and giving them ample time to do it. I asked for a partial refund because of the situation. I was informed that the front desk staff couldn't do it but that her manager would give me a call in a few hours to discuss the situation. The manager NEVER called nor did I receive a discount for my inconvenience.

Church landing has lost its soul… we visited church landing for the first time 11 years ago and We right away fell in love with the place. The location right by the water, the “house on the lake” decoration and 1940s music they used to play in the lobby; made the place an exquisite experience. The property was sold to a big hotel chain a few years ago and it definitely lost its enchantment. The decor was changed, the music no longer plays and the place is filthy. The adirondack chairs by the lake are full with mold. The bathrooms are completely filthy, full with grime and dirt. The shower by the indoor pool is just disgusting. When you pay north of $500 a night plus resort fees, you expect the place to at least be clean and it just isnt. I dont know if its a problem of being short staffed or just poor management, but the property is just not being taken care off. We had the opportunity to talk to a few employees off the record and they seem to share our thoughts. It is time to look for a new lake hotel for our summer geTaways. Very disappointing..

A great hotel on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee. The entire church landing complex is on the shores of the lake, with multiple areas to go swimming. There are also multiple pools and hot tubs, including a half indoor "adults only" Jacuzzi and pool for relaxation. The rooms and the hotel were clean, and the in-room fireplace was a nice touch. While a very enjoyable experience, the hotel still lacked some smaller refinements you would expect for $400+ a night. For example, the grab and go breakfast was never restocked, the pool was often low on towels and rooms could have been slightly more refined. That being said, this is probably one of the best places you can stay on the lake, and their prices represent that. Overall though, a very good experience.

the stay was better after we were able to switch rooms, but the service surrounding all our issues was horrendous and enough to make us and any friend we told about the situation (asking if i was being dramtic or not) to not want to stay there. it was a great central location with nice veiws and easy access to everything and a cute little beach, and if i was staying for one night it wouldnt be an issue. ||church landing is supposed to be the luxury hotel according to the website, but it was no where close to relaxing or luxuirious. moldy rooms, false advertising, dogs and chilidren in the room next to us making noise, terrible service, and SO much money that was wasted. again, trying not to be dramatic but the whole thing with the hotel pretty much ruined our trip. and i dont think the room that we moved into was worth the money we were charged for it on any occasion, let alone after everything we had gone through. || booked and paid fully for a lodge king (about 2600$ for the length of our stay) in october for a july trip. got there and the room was nothing like it said on line, our room uprgrades didn't come until ater i called and hours later, the jacuzzi in our room kept turning on every half hour for three hours with no water in it, we had no outdoor acess, AND THERE WAS MOLD IN OUR ROOM. everyt time we called about our issues, we were brushed off and told there was nothing available. it wasnt until they realized we were staying for 5 days isntead of one that they starting helping us. we were told multiple times people would come check out our room and they didnt and then i was told a manger would call me and they never did. the morning of check out we packed up or stufff and went to get breakfast but coming back for all our food and drinks so they wouldnt sit in the car too long, we came back to the room around 930 (checkout at 11) and houskeeping had turned over the room and thrown away all our food and beverages becuase they were told the room was vacant even though we had not check out and our key cards still had access to the rooms, so we lost about $150 there and "there was nothign that could be done about it". |i ended up getting a 500$ refund but that was just for the difference of price betweent the two rooms, not for any sort of trouble. i also didn't even get the full 500 becuase even though i have a receipt that says i paid in full and my balnce due was $0, apparently a restort fee of 165 was not included in that. the manager on the day of checkout was giving me so much attitude when i was just trying to understand why i have something that says $0 owed but now have to pay money that is being taken out of a refund for issues they caused. so i still basically had to pay full price even though we did not stay in a room that the feautres we...

We stayed at the Church Landing At Mills Falls for 3 nights the week of July 4th and we were very pleased. Our room was a Deluxe Lakeview King Suite. Pros:

  1. The room: It was an end unit on the top floor overlooking the lake. It was quite large, running from the front of the building to the back. As you enter the room there is a hallway. Follow that to the left and it opens to a living area with a king bed, a couch, desk, TV and fireplace. There is a very nice, private, balcony overlooking the grounds and the lake. Coming back up the hall, there is a separate bedroom with a double bed, dresser and TV. At the far-right end of the hall is the large bathroom. The beds were quite comfortable, and the room was very quiet.
  2. The location: The hotel is directly on the lake so relaxing on the balcony is very pleasant. It is within walking distance of numerous shops and restaurants and there is even a grocery store within walking distance. This is a great spot for those that like to walk. Being centrally located in NH, it is also within a short drive of some nice hikes and nature activities.
  3. The hotel itself: The front desk staff is very friendly and professional. The layout of the building is nice as there is a large lobby (with a very cool library off to one side) and the spa and pool etc. are down a level along with several function rooms. Upon check-in, they provide you with some great printed materials. These describe the activities that are available on site, (They have kayaks and paddle boards available just as an example) and in the area. This is a nice change as most hotels these days provide very little, if any, helpful printed material. We were contacted a couple of times (via text) during our stay to ensure that everything was to our liking. We found this to be a nice touch. Cons:
  4. The room needed some updating. You could tell it has been a while since the last renovation. The carpeting was drab and worn in some spots. The bathroom, although large in size, had one small sink with a small vanity. The area of the vanity wasn’t sufficient to hold the toiletries for a family of three.
  5. There is no microwave. This would have been good to have to warm up leftovers brought back from the local restaurants. The small fridge that is in the room could use an upgrade as well. It was set as high as it could go, but barely kept the contents cold.
  6. The view of the lake is somewhat obstructed by trees. The trees add to the natural beauty of the surroundings, so they are not detrimental per se. It’s just that they do impede the lake view from this room. In summary, we had a great time, and we will not hesitate to come back to this...
