I took my son here for a "birthday breakfast" for something different as I hadn't eaten here in years. I was really disappointed and it wasn't nearly as good as I remembered. The two best things about our breakfast was our server - she was excellent and super friendly - thank you! The 2nd thing is the coffee was good and my cup was kept full! Now for the food.... we ordered their really big cinnamon roll w/cream cheese frosting. I bake cinnamon rolls at home trying out a variety of internet - found recipes. Regardless of the recipe, the general process of rolling out dough, buttering it and covering it with brown sugar, cinnamon, and sugar, then rolling it , etc., etc., is pretty standard right? After baking the best part is the gooey middle part of the roll (imo). This roll had no such thing - there literally was no cinnamon, sugar, butter rolled up into the roll. It was more like a cheap white bread texture with cinnamon coating on the top. It was horrible! It was the worst cinnamon roll I've ever experienced. The frosting was a weird flavor - tasted like it was frozen and unthawed for use. My son, who eats ANYTHING with sugar, wanted nothing to do with the frosting! Unfortunately, that being said I had also ordered the cinnamon roll french toast (we ordered everything at the same time) with eggs. The eggs were good, and the bacon was done just rightand had good flavor. The french toast? It was awful. I got a box to go and put it all in the box and drenched it all in syrup. After a day of sitting in the syrup, the reheated french toast actually tasted like french toast. My son had a chorizo skillet with a flour tortilla. The chorizo is very spicy here - we both enjoyed it. My son, however, said the tortilla tasted stale and wouldn't eat it after the 1st few bites. I paid $40.00 including tip and was super disappointed. Should've went to IHOP or Wild Berry's and would've thoroughly enjoyed...
Read moreUsed to give this place 5 stars and labeled our favorite breakfast joint - this is no longer the case. You're looking at $20 per person for "its fine" breakfast food. My wife and kid used to insist on coming twice a month in the fall for the pumpkin cheesecake pancakes - those have fallen a long way; the filling isn't sweet, there is no cheesecake element, and it tastes like plain canned pumpkin puree mixed with milk. As a positive, eggs are always perfectly cooked, and the sausage links and potatoes are pretty tasty.
Was stoked to see a Monte Cristo on the seasonal menu, but honestly it doesn't deserve the name - its a generic sandwich on soggy French toast. The sandwich itself wasn't battered, and "served with strawberry jam" literally means "comes with a jelly packet we give you with toast" - are you kidding me? This conversation also happened: Waitress: "what side would you like?" Me: "what do you have?" Her: "Fries. And, um... I think soup or salad." Me: "What kind of soup do you have?" Her: "Um, we have all our soups." Me: ". . . " Her: ". . ." Me: "Sorry, but I don't work here. Do you know what soups are available?" Her: "I think there's a tortilla one that's popular." I just grabbed the menu myself, and ordered the loaded baked potato. Soup itself was very flavorful, but the potato chunks were way too big for the other stuff in there, plus it was cold when it came out.
We used to be happy to make the 20+ mile drive from the west side for breakfast, but unfortunately this is going to have to downgrade to a "maybe if we're in the area" place. Quality, value and service just haven't been the same since pandemic. Staff is nice enough though, and service is relatively quick, so I guess...
Read moreThe food was delicious 😋 Our server was in her own world, but she did ok. There's like a wide hallway to the side where about 3 tables are in...it was quite warm, no airflow and fans were off. I will not sit there again, other than that, the atmosphere was nice and the most important part the food was great. I ordered the Belgium waffle breakfast, scrambled eggs, 2 bacon, strawberries and whipped cream on side and coffee. You get your own little carafe filled with coffee, so we didn't have to wait for refill 😊

9/5/22 around 10 a.m. not busy, but definitely disappointed...ordered usual Belgium waffle, scrambled eggs, bacon, coffee. Waited on refill for coffee, went to bathroom, hoping upon my return coffee refilled, not....but food delivered, my friend asked for my Tabasco sauce, they were out..food in front of us, still no coffee or silverware, she passed by I said excuse me can we please get some silverware...hoping she'd notice we had empty coffee cups...she returned with silverware after a while, no coffee...I'm sorry, could we please get some more coffee? She finally brought us a container with coffee we could refill ourselves 👍 My scrambled eggs were not fully cooked, but my Belgium waffle and bacon were delicious. My friend does not like to bother or complain...he believes in just sucking it up and just not returning. The worst service we've received in a while 👎 We got a nice table close to...
