I recently had the opportunity to “purchase” an elite trainer box at one of your stores online for pick up, but was told that they had sold it even after I had purchased it online.
I called the Arizona, Baseline store to ask if they had any Pokémon elite trainer boxes available, the gentleman on the phone mentioned yes, but was not able to place on hold, best way is to purchase it online and come to the store to pick up. As soon as I hung up, I immediately went on the application and purchased the item I wanted for pickup and paid through PayPal at 4:44pm. I excitingly got up, left my house and drove 30 minutes to the store I had placed the order at. Once I got to the store I asked the woman employee at the counter that I was there to pick up my item I purchased over the GameStop application. She and another employee (man in glasses), looked skeptical when I had asked them for the item. They look over at some papers together, and came back toward me, and the man said that my item was purchased by someone else. I told the man, “Sir, I purchased the item online 30 mins ago, what do you mean you sold the item?” He then mentioned, “Did you not get the cancellation email?” At that moment, I looked into my email on my phone and saw no email. “ the man tried to give me an answer that we both knew was an excuse. I could not believe the item I had purchased online was gone and sold to someone else. I walked out of the store and got into my vehicle, and as soon as I started my ignition, I finally received the cancellation email at 5:24pm the GameStop employee had previously mentioned! Read moreI have been a huge GameStop supporter for years, overall I like their business model, company culture, and I really enjoy their perks and prices.
The location closest to me actually closed down and I discovered this location. It has now become my favorite store in all of the valley. I can't lie, I have had lots of really good experiences in this store and legitimately have had fun shopping here. I'm not a shopaholic so fun isn't normally how I would describe a shopping experience.
Ultimately I think the manager here, Marky, really helps create an extremely positive environment, so much so that I always feel extremely comfortable in his store. He always makes the experience that much more. I would give 6 stars if Google would let me.
My first experience is definitely worth sharing! I went in to trade in some games and purchase a new game. My girlfriend was looking to purchase me a gift so she opted in to pay for my pro renewal and to pay for the remaining balance on my new game, which was only $5 or so after all my trade-ins. I made a half-joke that she really gave me a great gift with the pro membership and we all laughed about it. It wasn't until later on that I found out she had secretly communicated with him right in front of me and got me some awesome batman socks and a $50 Nintendo e card.

To trade in a game and when I asked 2 of my friends that came with me to the gamestop if I could Barrow there id. or if they could trade the game in for me the gamestop employees told me and my friends to leave and to not come back for the rest of the day. I did not have my Id with me because I forgot it at home but I did have the recent from when the game was purchased with me along with my powerup reward card with me. And what really annoys me is I called gamestop and they said I don't need a I'd if I have my power up rewards card with me.
