My wife and I brought 3 of our 4 kids to see Toy Story 4 on 6-22-19. Ticket prices have increased dramatically since my last visit, we chose the Dolby Cinema. The reclining seats, ample room and awesome sound made the price worth it. The movie was great and graphics were astounding. The downs to our visit are as follows, the counters at concessions were greasy, soda covered, popcorn on the counters and floor (not just a little it was rediculous)not to mention a large popcorn and drink is $16. The cinema itself wasn't over crowded and with only two registers open, two popcorn machines running and about 10 to 12 employees standing around both behind the counter and out on the floor cutting up I'm sure someone could've been tending to the mess. They could've more than likely grabbed the guy that was hanging out in the ticket office upfront not doing anything but hanging out and talking while I was trying to purchase our tickets. The soda machines were working but unfortunately Barqs Rootbeer was unavailable on two of the machines as well as Dr. Pepper and after paying the price I did for that drink I would've assumed someone from the pack of 10 to 12 or so would've taken the inititiative to ensure they were stocked. Not sure where the manager(s) were but customer service was empty. Couldve been one of the employees on the floor socialising and hanging out. The game room was closed, bathroom across from screen room 20 was horrible. Won't even indulge into those details. Last but not least our screen room was 20, close to every seat had trash in them. Im talking straws, cups, candy boxes, candy wrappers etc in the cup holders... they used to spot clean in between veiwings, not sure thats on the list anymore because that room was dirty. Would've never imagined paying those prices to go in and have to clean our seating areas just to be able to sit down and enjoy the movie. The H row seating had the trim carpet between seats 19 and 10 completely coming off. For the prices they charge I again would assume these problems would be non-existent or at the very least kept to a minimum. Not trying to beat the place up but offer constructive criticism towards improving and becoming better. These conditions I mentioned above are very easy to curve. Proper training the employees/managment is vital. Im not saying every employee was bad because a few I interacted with were fantastic. The others with the "oh I don't know" mentality and walk away like they were going to get an answer but never showed back up... I'd surely let them draw unemployment while they find a job that they care about and can do. Palace 20 is a theatre I remember being such a great cinema growing up, not sure what happened or who is in charge but it seems to be going downhill rapidly. Hopefully the management will take a closer look at its training guidelines and carefully watch the floor to ensure the work they are being paid to do gets done. Hopefully next time it...
Read moreI will NEVER again attend a movie at an AMC theater. I hope they go out of business. In the future, I'll either use my local neighborhood theater, or I'll stream movies at home. I have never had a more disruptive experienced in a movie theater. A group of about 15 rowdy underaged teens found their way into the theater, despite the fact that the manager later said that kids under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. These kids were in the range of 14 to 16 years old. Another viewer reported the rowdy behavior to Jefferson Parish Sheriff's deputies working a security detail in the lobby. I knew she reported them, because I had exited to report the behavior. She was apologetic, and complained that they were rowdy for the entire movie. The deputies appeared in the theater, and of course the kids then calmed down. After the deputies left, the rowdy behavior resumed. About 20 minutes later - I couldn't tolerate the behavior, and so I returned to the lobby and spoke to the deputies myself. They said they ejected 5 of the rowdy kids. I said there were more in the theater, and that as soon as the deputies left the theater, the kids resumed their rowdiness. The deputies reported the complaint to the manager, but nothing happened. After the show, I complained to the manager that nothing was done about the rowdiness, and insisted that I be issued a refund. The manager agreed, but did not provide any assurance that the episode wouldn't be repeated in the future. Guest services said that tickets prepaid by Paypal can't be refunded, offering instead a gift card. I refused the gift card, saying that I will NEVER, EVER return to an AMC theater again. I encourage others who read this review to boycott this particular venue. Oh, and the theater was disgusting - sticky floors and...
Read moreWish I could give 0 stars . What happen to this theater ? It is horrible run down . It’s needs landscape the grass isn’t even cut over grown , there is trash everywhere outside . The outside of the building is dirty and needs paining and pressure washing very bad. The walk up windows never have anyone working them but I guess that ok because you can go inside . The kiosk machines don’t work. Ok this is just the poor appearance out side now let me get started on the employees. Absolutely the worst customer service. We thought we were going to see a Zombie movie because the employees acted like Zombies. We went to get pop corn and the guy just stood there looking down . No eye contact did not even ask us what we wanted we had to say “ Hello we would like to order “ before he even looked up . The person who was scanning our ticket did the same thing . Unbelievable.! The I Max screen has broken seats that should be taken out of service . It was dark when we went in and when we sat down in the seats they had no arm rest and well I feel out seat on to the other seat . We have seen 3 movies over a 2 month time and each time it has been worst and worst. This use to be such a great movie Theater , it was always so clean and it had nice young people working . Metairie is very limited on theaters we only have 2 that I know of the one in kenner closed . People still like to see movies on the big screen it’s not the same watching them at home . Please do something to bring back this theater to what it once was . I will no longer spend my money here until I see improvements I am...
