Picked out a sectional sofa with oversized ottoman at the Ashley furniture store in Harahan. After visiting the store three times I decided to make a purchase. First time I went into the store to look at their furniture, Yolanda approached me. Second time a different salesman Jamie approached me to ask if I needed any help. I looked around but didnât purchase anything until the third time I went in. The salesman who approached me that day was George who insisted he was the first person to approach me & I was his customer. My experience with George initially was acceptable until we had completed the sale. Toward the end of the transaction when I asked him what if the sectional sofa & ottoman didnât fit my room, he proceeded to tell me (Iâm quoting him now) no problem you can exchange it & then gave me his personal cell number in case that happened. I learned recently that Ashley furniture has a no return policy & I needed to reject the item at the time it was delivered before the delivery guys left my house, And that trying to return it later was against their policy. I tried to call George directly within an hour of my delivery but got no answer. I then immediately called the Harahan store, but no answer. The call went through to customer service. I spoke to Sharonda. She informed me that I could exchange the ottoman for another item of equal or greater value but Iâd have to go back to the store to choose a replacement item. That was acceptable to me. I have been back to the Harahan store 3 times or more & each time the story has changed. I was turned over to the assistant manager Michael. He sent an email to the Dufresne Spenser Group on my behalf. I got a phone call the next day from them. They issued a store credit by email & told me to go back to the store to pick out a replacement item. The next day I returned to the store to pick out a replacement item, which I had decided on an area rug that was the same price as the ottoman I wanted them to exchange. I was told that a new delivery had to be scheduled. At the time of that delivery they would bring the rug & take ottoman back. The next day in the store with George the area rug I had chosen was no longer available & George wanted to fold the floor sample rug up & put it in my car (8x10 rug would not have fit in my small car). When I requested that he move the display furniture off the floor sample rug so that I could see the rug to make sure it had no dirt or stains, he was very reluctant to do so. His attitude toward me became rude & obnoxious to the point of him handing me a main number for customer service, then he asked me to leave the store now & suggested I donât come back. He said I should call the number & ask them to write up an exchange order. I left & called the number. The customer service rep told me that they didnât have any exchange order & the store had to initiate the exchange order. Iâm being told by each respective party that an exchange order is needed & each side tells me that the other side is responsible for initiating it.    Read moreI purchased a mattress and base. The wrong base was delivered. I immediately called the store after delivery and was told that was what I ordered and could not return it. The mattress had a 90 day sleep comfort exchange. I went in to exchange it. I kept being put off for the exchange then was told it was over looked by someone in customer service. When delivered the name brand was correct so I signed for it. The new one was supposed to a 4,000 temprapetic mattress. My statement never reflected the upgrade from the 2,000 I was charged for the original purchase. I called the store and was told it was a 2,000 dollar mattress. I told them that I ordered a more expensive one and was told it could only be exchanged once. I understand that is the policy but when the wrong is delivered which was their fault and I want to pay more for what I picked out it should be honored. Now I have a mattress and base that I didn't order charged to my account and was told there is nothing they can do.After telling me over and over this would be resolved I am told nothing can be done and my calls are ignored. Ashley has terrible customer service. I have purchased many mant things from them in the past and will not purchase from them anymore. I am beyond upset about the way I have been treated and encourage anyone to shop elsewhere before purchasing from Ashley Furniture. I recently received a response from Ashely furniture stating that they apologize for the mix up on my order and for the customer service I received. They said my complaint is valid and they want to help just like is stated in other bad reviews. I was asked to call or text them so I did. I spoke to Lindsay and my ticket number is 174364. She was very very nice and concerned just like the numerous people I have already spoke to. Just like the others also spoke to she understood and was going to help. I was asked to call back in a couple of days. I did that and again was told I could get no help that it was too long. I tried to explain once again thatit was reported sooner but I have just been put off over and over again and of course time goes by but she didn't want to hear it and tried to argue with me. The responses to the reviews make it sound like they truly want to help so readers think they resolve problems but once again they do not. You know very well they are able to help but choose not to. Financing is not thru Ashley so after you sign for it you are hooked. They get paid and the finance company wants their money. It is horrible how I was treated especially by the manager BRIAN in Ponchatoula. He knew he wasn't going to help me but just kept promising me everything was going to be ok. AGAIN I URGE ANYONE PURCHASING FURNITURE PLEASE DO YOUR HOMEWORK. CHECK OTHER STORES BEFORE ASHLEY. I WOULD NOT LIKE ANYONE ELSE TO HAVE A $4,000.00 BILL LIKE I HAVE TO PAY FOR THINGS I DID NOT ORDER AND ASHLEY AGAIN ASHLEY FURNITURE HAS THEIR MONEY AND THE HELL WITH THEIR CUSTOMERS.    Read moreI would not recommend anyone to buy any furniture from Ashley furniture store. We bought a sectional sofa as well as a split king Tempur-pedic bed system from Ashley furniture in Harahan in November 2024. It was delivered in December. The delivery was chaos and it was delivered to a new construction site. The delivery team caused such a problem with construction workers trying to get into the house that my contractor asked that they just leave the sofa wrapped, and the delivery team did not assemble the sofa. We unwrapped the sofa about a week later to discover that we were given two corner pieces of a sectional sofa, instead of a corner piece and an end. I promply reached out to Ashley customer service, sent pictures and was assured that an even exchange would be made, and it was scheduled. I received no further communication until the day before delivery to tell me that the piece was no longer in stock and delivery would have to be rescheduled for the following month. I verified at this time that the piece was in stock for that rescheduled delivery date and was told yes and that it was on the truck and I would get a confirmation of delivery time 24 hours ahead of time. I got a delivery confirmation that showed delivery would occur between 12 and three and confirmed the automated system that this was correct and did get a confirmation response. We waited all day at the house for the delivery to never show up. When I called Ashley customer service again. I was told that we did not confirm delivery even though I had proof of text messaging and sent that to customer service and we had been removed from the route with no further communication. I was assured that we were scheduled again for today, January 25, 2025. My husband and I are currently out of town so paid someone to sit at our house for our delivery time of 9 AM. It is now three hours later and there has been no delivery. After checking into our hotel, I called Ashley customer service again to be told that we were never scheduled for delivery again today. This is completely unacceptable. I have also Inquired about them taking the entire sofa back as at this point we have been living with half of the sofa and I no longer want the sofa. I am constantly told because it was accepted that it cannot be returned, even though we were not issued a complete delivery. We have scheduled one more time for February 7, 2025 because we have no other choice. If this furniture does not come at this time, we will be consulting legal action to get reimbursed for the sofa and contacting the Better Business Bureau.
