I met Daniel at the Miami Gunshow when I initially committed to purchasing a firearm for sport shooting and personal carry about a year ago. The first thing that caught my attention was the incredible selection of limited production, high end stock he had on display. In addition to Glock, Sig Sauer, Smith & Wesson, FN and others which are common in most every dealer, he also carried Atlas, Taran Tactical, Staccato, and Laugo firearms. Every one of them have extended wait times and that’s IF you can get on the list in the first place, but here they were on display. When I inquired Daniel took the time to explain how each manufacturer applied their technical and manufacturing skills to craft these exceptional pieces and invited me to his shop to learn more and make an educated decision. I found that incredibly genuine, he never compelled me to purchase anything without doing my own research prior. I’m glad I took him up on the invitation. Daniel and Julie have a very unique, personalized approach to their business. As opposed to a typical counter experience where you are treated like a number that needs to, “buy now and leave” they have curated a bespoke experience. The shop isn’t a typical, “store” so to speak, but rather a true showroom. When you step in it’s as though you’ve entered a panorama of every type and purpose of firearm you could possibly imagine. Handguns, rifles, shotguns of every make and model. Daniel is both technically proficient in demonstrating each pieces particular functions and qualities as well as their suitability to your needs. He is also well equipped to assist you in configuring your choice of firearm with every accessory you can conceive of from suppressors to optics and slings. His sales experience manages every aspect of documentation should your purchase require additional ATF approvals should you purchase a SBR or suppressor. All of this in what I can best describe as a clubhouse environment. Most every customer that visited during my initial time there was on a first name basis with Daniel and a repeat customer which only impressed me more. Since that first visit I have been back numerous times not only to purchase something but to ask questions which he always takes the time to research, discuss and advise on. In my estimation most all of us want to do business with professional, personable people who are committed to meeting our needs and expectations, not just turning a profit. I'm a guy (52) who started young with guns and I've owned many over the years but without any formal training. I've always liked to shoot 'em, but I've never been particularly confident or comfortable in my abilities or lack thereof. A few weeks ago, I decided to buy something new and this time I would get the proper training before I use it. Enter Miami International Arms. Without knowing exactly what was right for me, Daniel and his nephew Diego helped guide me to what turned out to be just the one. This was an upper mid tier purchase (2k) without any pressure at all, only good information. The next day I came back and completed the buy completely happy with the not small amount of money I'd just spent. Today I did an AM pistol and a PM rifle fundamentals training with Daniel and a group of 5 guys. Daniel's methodology isn't based on a stage 1, stage 2, and so on philosophy. You will learn practices. Things start very safety conscious and one shot at a time. As the day progresses, it will become more advanced - (moving and shooting, shooting from the hip defensively). But you will NEVER feel out of your element. The environment is very relaxed for a newcomer and the only competition I could note is comparing my paper target to the guy next to me.
