I’ve not stayed at this place. I just never even made it that far. But, my family and I made reservations and it was nothing but ongoing confusion. It’s obvious that the people handling the reservations are clueless about the property. While I understand that they may not be in the same city (New Orleans), one would think that the reservation specialist would provide accurate information and at least be knowledgeable of the property. While responses to inquiries are prompt, they are extremely inconsistent. And, you never ever communicate with the same people. It’s always someone different. But, honestly you do not who you’re communicating with because they never reveal their names.
The pictures that are displayed for the units that you think you’re reserving are not accurate. They are models. If you reserve a space with a balcony, do not be surprised if the unit either does not have a balcony or if the balcony is shared with several other units. Furthermore, all of the one bedrooms are described as one bedrooms, but some are actually studios. Additionally, some of the rooms apparently do not even have windows. So, I would suggest you actually reach out to someone before you book to make sure that you actually get what you pay for.
Out of an abundance of caution, I finally decided to cancel my reservation after receiving several emails confirming my reservation for the WRONG room. At one point, I even received a confirmation for a room in a totally different building in a different part of the city. The more I emailed to get clarification, the more I received inconsistent information. Finally, I was told that management had changed my room, yet no one could tell me why. I paid for an upgraded room with a balcony and the room I was switched to did not even have a balcony.
I was finally able to speak with someone regarding the room change. I was told the change was made because the unit I had selected was scheduled for "maintenance." That made absolutely no sense. My reservation for July 4th weekend. That's three months away and it is a holiday weekend. So, upon checking Sextant's website again, I noticed that they had actually relisted the very room that I had reserved. It was showing as available for the very dates for which I was informed it would not be available because of maintenance.
I am not sure how this place has received such high reviews. If I could leave zero I would have. My experience in just trying to reserve a room has been nothing but a completely...
Read moreDO NOT BOOK with this company.Booked a stay for a girls trip with 11 people at one of their houses. It was booked 6 weeks in advance and paid for in full over a month in advance. They had been in communication quite often and sent me info for check in. The day of arrival we drove from 4 hours away for our trip. I got a text in the morning that someone would meet us at the house when we arrived and to let us in the house. We were told we would be sent a door code to get in, never that someone needed to meet us there. Halfway through the drive I was contacted by someone from their office, asking if they could move us, because the house got double booked. I told them no that we would not relocate and they said they would figure it out. I didn’t hear back from them the rest of the drive. We arrived at exactly 4pm for our check in and as I was pulling in the driveway I got a phone call from the guy who was supposed to meet us saying that my reservation had been CANCELLED! They completely cancelled our booking without notice, leaving us homeless, and helpless. We had multiple people call their office to try to get some answers. We heard 10 different stories from them and never got a straight answer. They refused to put us in another property and offered us a refund via PayPal, which seemed incredibly sketchy. It took several hours on the phone being passed around to multiple people to get the refund initiated. We were thankful to get the money back, but would have rather had a place to stay. We scrambled last minute to get something else, making it an incredibly stressful day. At not one point was Sextant Properties apologetic for their actions or took any sort of accountability. Had we not fought to get our refund it probably wouldn’t have happened. This company is scamming people and should be shut down for their terrible...
Read moreWe stayed in an apartment at Factors Row. Beautiful apartment; well-equipped with everything you could want or need. It was very clean and super comfy for our group (two couples).
The kitchen had everything you would likely need for a short stay: pots & pans, utensils, spices and oils for cooking, mixing bowls, storage containers, a coffee pot with a bag of coffee (a real luxury these days as most places require you to bring your own!), and even a French press!
The beds were comfortable, and there were plenty of bath linens for everyone (with extras in the supply closet). The walk-in closets were huge with more than enough space (hanging and drawer space) for a month's worth of clothing. Hangers were also provided.
The living room furniture was comfy enough for the amount of time we spent in the apartment. There was an Amazon Fire TV and free internet access. My hubby and I both had to do a bit of work while we were there, and the internet connectivity was more than adequate for that.
My only suggestion for improvement would be more light over the dining room table. We used it to play board games at night, and it was a challenge to read cards, etc. But seriously, that's so minor a thing it wasn't even really a thing. The apartment was really fantastic.
The building was close to the Superdome and the French Quarter. Parking is not included or provided. Street parking is dicey, however, there are 2-3 parking garages/lots within a couple of blocks. We were there over a holiday weekend for a major event, so we reserved/pre-paid for a parking space a few weeks in advance, which was definitely a time-saver and headache preventer. We didn't get our vehicle out the entire time (4 days), and had no worries or issues.
We would 100%...
