I took my Dyson in for a simple tune up, which was supposed to take no more than two weeks. After three weeks of not hearing from them, I called and left a message with an associate who said the person I needed to talk to wasn't there. No one returned my call. After four weeks, I called back and the person said it had been ready for three weeks. When I picked up my vacuum and brought it home, I realized it wasn't my vacuum. It had paint marks and scuff marks that weren't on there before. I hauled it back to the store and mentioned that there was a mistake, and I didn't have the correct vacuum cleaner. Behind the counter looks like a Dyson graveyard with at least 20-25 other vacuums that look just like mine. (Not to mention the store is dingy and smells like wet dog.) They said this had never happened before and unless I had some type of registration number I'd need to take this vacuum home. Sadly, the vacuum that I have now smells when I use it and the suction is worse now than when I took mine in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe three times I have used Allen's have all been great experiences. The last time was last week when I needed a part for a very old Maytag dryer. I really like the online service with RepairClinic if I have time to wait for parts. Even though the parts purchased at Allen's were non returnable I was pretty confident of my diagnosis after speaking with the very pleasant "Allen", when I was describing the symptoms and the troubleshooting I had done. Instead of a three day wait (have you ever had laundry appliances quit when you hadn't let laundry pile up?) I got it done immediately. The price was about 5% less than Online with shipping by three day FedEx. The price was about half of Sears Parts Direct, not counting shipping. BTW I give really high marks to a business that has a live customer standing at the desk when they are don't jump to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place is awful. I'm giving them one star only because I can't give them zero. My mother owns a Rainbow vacuum that she has had for 35 years. It needed a repair on its power nozzle and she brought it here. Not only did it take them a month, yes a month to fix it but they ripped her off. They charged nearly $300 for a repair that should have been much less. After just over a year (once their warranty expired) the power nozzle stopped working right. I investigated and discovered that this place but in used wires for their repair. So they have horrible, rude customer service, they do lousy work, they take way too long, and they charge too much. Luckily I bought my mother a refurbished power nozzle on eBay so her Rainbow is good to go again. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone and I'm amazed that they have been in business...
