I was in the area, and I saw this restaurant come up under my Yelp page. My boyfriend and I decided to try it. I’m so glad we did. There is limited parking. You can either park on the street or park in the back. What I love about this place is it’s old world charm. This place is quaint. There is a wrap around porch that has outdoor seating. Also, on the other side of the building where you check in is outdoor seating on a patio which is very dog friendly. I must’ve pet seven different breeds of dogs. Their owners were extremely friendly. Historic Dimmick’s Inn also has indoor seating and a full bar. They have a wood burning Pizza Oven. It was a beautiful day, and not hot so I decided to sit outside on the porch. I was immediately greeted by a very friendly server named Ester. She was so delightful. We started with some signature cocktails. Our bartender Vince did such a good job with these cocktails. I chose their Perfectly Ginger Sangria-Pear Nectar, Sauvignon Blanc, Lemon Juice, Simple Syrup, Ginger Beer. It was very refreshing. When I was done I ate the the piece of fresh ginger. My second cocktail was their Passionfruit Margarita-Jose Cuervo, Passion Fruit Juice, Triple Sec, Fresh Lime Juice, Chili Lime Salt Rim. I absolutely loved this cocktail. It was well balanced and that chili lime salt rim only added to the delicious flavors. My boyfriend chose to have 2 of the same signature cocktails. He chose their Strawberry Rhubarb Smash- Jim Beam Bourbon, Strawberry -Rhubarb Puree, Lemon Juice, Mint, Simple Syrup. He really loved this cocktail. The rhubarb purée gave this cocktail a tart and somewhat sweet taste with the added simple syrup. For Appetizer I chose their Fried Calamari- with classic marinara or Thai chili sauce, and pickled sweet peppers. I chose both their Marinara Sauce and their Thai Chili Sauce. Both sauces were very good, but I really enjoyed their Thai Chili Sauce. My Calamari was light and crisp. We both thoroughly enjoyed it. It was somewhat early, so I didn’t want to have a huge meal. We both decided on their French Dip Sandwich and it came with French fries. This was definitely one of the best French dips I’ve ever had. It was served on this amazing semolina bread, but what made it so good was the meat was tender and their dipping sauce was light and flavorful. Typically French dip sauces are very salty. This sauce was light. Had a touch of lemon in it and I really, really enjoyed it. I only ate half of my sandwich and took the rest home. We were both very full and we did not have any dessert. I would definitely come here again. I saw many of their other dishes being served and they looked wonderful. This place is definitely doing things...
Read moreAfter growing up in the vicinity, I finally decided to dine at the establishment with my spouse yesterday. Regrettably, the service we received was severely lacking. Our server displayed evident displeasure upon learning that we were not partaking in alcoholic beverages. When we inquired about the non-alcoholic options, she exhibited annoyance and seemed uninterested in accommodating our preferences. Furthermore, she frequently neglected our table, prioritizing the orders of patrons who arrived after us. This discriminatory treatment towards non-regular customers was palpable.
The seafood dish I ordered presented several issues. The clams and mussels had a pronounced muddy flavor, and there were numerous shell fragments present. While I understand that such occurrences can happen when dealing with these ingredients, it was evident that minimal effort had been made to clean them properly. Additionally, the shrimp was overcooked, and the overall dish was excessively oily. My husband's cheeseburger was also excessively greasy. Regrettably, both of us experienced gastrointestinal distress approximately four hours after our meal.
Moreover, we were seated in a location that was directly in the path of servers entering and exiting the dining area, carrying food, drinks, or seating other customers. This resulted in frequent disruptions, as servers would either bump into my chair or brush past me while I was attempting to eat and drink.
In summary, our experience at the establishment was profoundly disappointing, and I am unlikely to return. While regular customers may find a sense of belonging, I was dissatisfied with both the quality of the food and the standard of service we received. It is particularly disheartening considering the positive recommendations we had received from several individuals, all of whom...
Read moreWent there have dinner with two of my buddies The waitress suggested prime rib they had it on special that it was a 16 oz cut and they were $36 each so we ordered three they were definitely not 16 oz and the quality of the meat was not good it tasted like a piece of select grade meat instead of being a prime cut for $36 and I say the average piece was about 12 oz not 16 so I was not impressed to be honest baked potato is cold butter did not melt in the potatoes. As far as the atmosphere in the place it was beautiful I love to place fireplace was really nice I just wish the food was what it was supposed to be and it would have made the night incredible we will definitely try it again at some point.
PS a lot of people might say why do I write reviews well how many times have you gone on Google search for a place and see if that place was any good you read the reviews and if it's got a four and a half plus rating you go to it and that's what I do and if we don't write these reviews You're not going to know what you're getting into these reviews on a business is it make you or break you I'm always honest about my reviews I will definitely come back to this place again and I will try it again and get something different that's for sure and if it's good I'm going to take this review down and write another review. And I don't like returning food that's not who I am I think that the owner or the boss should have total control of what goes in and out of that kitchen at all times there's no excuse and yes I do talk...
