Great experience in the first 45 minutes, great pedicure, pleasant nail tech, and very clean environment. Was excited to hear about this place, since I have just moved from Japan and new to the area. While I was receiving my second service, my nail tech stopped midway through when the Owner Tony began standing near her. I thought it was weird, but was so consumed with my glee about the salon that I donât pick up at first what was going on. Tony never said anything to me directly, but signaled my nail tech to tell me to pay now. I assumed that this was a normal practice at the salon and didnât think much about it. However, when two patrons who received similar services paid after their services were completed I began to wonder what made them different. Why was their quality of peace during their treatments, valued over my peace? Before my manicure was interrupted I was going to ask if I can bump it up to the Spa Manicure and get my eyebrows done. But when I was abruptly told to pay as if I wouldnât receive anything else until I proved I had the financial resources to prove that I belonged there. My desire to get additional services left. I sat there patiently waiting to see how other patrons were treated, a reality dawned on me that the only difference between me and everyone there was race. After living in Asia for so long, you donât truly experience racism or micro aggressions like here in the States. I finally got up my nerve to ask the owner Tony, âwhy was it appropriate for him to interrupt my services for me to pay but not all the other customers?â He responded with a shocked look and then chuckled, his wife or business partner tried to explain that its normal practice. Yet, I watched everyone who came in after me pay after services were rendered. When I explained to her that what was done was a form of racism, he turned his back and exited the conversation. I wasnât going to put a review up and just tell my friend who referred me, but she encouraged me to share this. People no matter what race, socioeconomic background, or gender identity. Should be treated the same no matter what as long as they are paying customers, we should all be...
Read moreI recently received a dip/SNS manicure here on my natural nails. Iâve been doing SNS manicures religiously for the past few years and have never had an issue until this one. 4 days after the manicure it started to lift at the tips. I went back and asked kindly for a refund, as my nails were all lifting. They gaslit me and told me itâs normal wear and tear and that I am using my nails improperly - not sure what that means. A good SNS manicure should last at least 3 weeks, mine always last 4. The lift is due to their products, not using the proper base coat/activator/the gel top coat they used instead of dip, or them not preparing the nails properly for adhesion. Instead they refused to take accountability and said for me to receive even a partial 50% refund I had to leave the polish there. They tried to remove it from my nails, I said no. My gel pedicure looks beautiful but I would not trust this place for SNS - they do not use quality products and do not know how to...
Read moreThe customer service couldâve been better. The regulars were treated better and given more accommodations. From the door it felt like if it wasnât for the husband the wife was going to make every excuse to discourage me from getting my gel pedicure and a manicure for my daughter. The female owner then seemed disappointed that I wanted a gel pedicure since she initially had asked a Spanish employee to do it (Spanish employee seemed to be in training-assumption since gel pedicure are basic nowadays). The female owner then removes my old gel color in the most unhealthy way for the nail and verily scrub my feet. The female owner also donât really allow for you to add last minute services. They do have a sign soliciting people to work. They need more staff especially with their prices. The place is clean and the bathroom is spacious and clean. Another pro is that they...
