I was not impressed by the food whatsoever. And I know the management cares and reads the reviews and here is my opinion: This is a massively americanized restaurant. The flavors, the cookery, and the ingredients are more American than Chinese. I ordered several dishes and I was waiting for one to be impressed by but all tasted bland and underseasoned.
The duck was so dry. The pancakes that came with it looked like tortillas and didn't taste right.
The crispy beef was super soggy and sweet. The green peppers should've been green onions. And even the peppers were too crispy to the point where it wasn't cooked.
The steamed dumpling lacked flavor and the chili oil on top wasn't emerged into the dish because the dumplings were dry.
The fried rice tasted like it was made for kids. No flavors of soy sauce, garlic, or onions. The chicken on top was lacking flavors and no color on them.
The chow fun noodle was the worse of all. It tasted like a boiled noodle dish without any flavors or seasoning.
For managemen: (This restaurant has a potential and their got the service and atmosphere right. I really wish they can up their cooking game. Too many dishes in the menu and all are American versions of what resembles Chinese food. I had a one-star experience but I'm still giving you a three-star rating. I don't wanna be standing in the way of your business. I know the feedback I provided is gonna change your customer base if implemented. Older people would still like bland americanized food but the young would appreciate the authentic experience. And that's a decision you...
Read moreWhy is Ms. Lin so GOOD!! It took us awhile trying out so many Chinese restaurants in the area and were beyond happy to discover Ms. Lin. It is the Best! The food taste excellent, fresh, and great flavors. Not oily or drenched in too much sauce. We've been getting take out often. Their lunch special is the best deal that comes with a drink. We've had the Chicken and Broccoli, General Tso's, Kung Pao Chicken, and shrimp roll. I love green beans but if you aren't a green bean fan their Kung Pao isn't for you or substitute the veggie. It does have a little spice but minimal. It's also the perfect portion size. Their dinner menu is also great. The portion is really big and always filling. This is by far our favorite Chinese food and so glad we found them. They also do delivery which is wonderful as we live in the neighboring town and they come all the way to our home when we are...
Read moreseriously, this is the best restaurant for chinese food in all of New Jersey. the service and even delivery are wonderful. And just like any food, sometimes a dish can be slightly different. I find that happens most when real ingredients are used, i.e. fresh vegetables or a sauce not pre-manufactured, etc, and when nothing is was frozen beforehand. Food from here is not only freshly made but also made with fresh produce or soup or fish or chicken or broccoli or noodles or whatever you’re in to. Guys, I have tried many (many!) chinese food restaurants all over Jersey, including that big one in denville (they use frozen vegetables for their vegetable fried rice.) and confidentially I can say, Ms Lin is the best restaurant for chinese food in all of New...
