A jewel of a bridge in the Historic 3rd Ward. Named after Milwaukee's socialist mayor who served from 1916 to 1940. The Western face of the bridge is lit with a different theme nearly every evening. The best views are from the Sail Loft and National Ave boat launch. Various festivals like Hoanchella and Hoancoming celebrate the bridge with fireworks, drone displays, and music from local stations.

Perfect mini getaway if you love beautiful lake views and the potent stench of feces wafting up from the river. You can just hold your breath :) If you're parked underneath, there are several pokestops and a gym if you're still into that kind of thing. And you can walk into Lakeshore park from back there and all the way around to the Summer fest grounds

I absolutely love this bridge! It's a glorious piece of engineering, but what's even better is the lighting! Sometimes they change the colors up, but usually it's the yellow with blue and twinkling lights, and it's really a sight to see at night!!

Description
The Daniel Hoan Memorial Bridge is a tied-arch bridge that connects Interstate 794 in downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to the Lake Freeway across the Milwaukee River inlet. Originally called the Harbor Bridge, it was renamed after Daniel Hoan, one of the longest serving mayors of Milwaukee.
