Minneapolis Water Taxi — Attraction in Minneapolis

We booked the Water Taxi for Friday, 8/12/2023. We like to do a family picnic each summer and incorporate a special activity to go go along with the picnic. My nephew suggested the Minneapolis Water Taxi and we were all in! The pontoon was clean, quiet and had a canopy which we all appreciated. Our “captain” was so nice, so accommodating and was very knowledgeable of the area. The weather could not have been better…there was a wonderful breeze from the water….the sun was shining….the river was quiet with no boat traffic; it was perfect. We were able to bring food and beverages for the ride but we elected to just have beverages on the boat and grill on Boom Island so we could just relax and enjoy each other’s company. I found this on an online search when looking for something to do for my Husbands birthday. I am so glad I booked it! We did the white boat with the cover and really comfy seats. One of the best parts was the fact that the boat was electric and ran off solar panels. This allowed us to hear the water as we cruised along. An hour was the perfect amount of time for us and our 3 kids (including a 10 month old). We took an afternoon tour with Captain Cory and really enjoyed it. It was on the heels of a frenetic visit to the Mall of America, and I found Cory's calming narration of the sights and the smooth ride on the water to be exactly what I needed to down-regulate my nervous system. It was a unique perspective of the city also. Note that this is not a high speed ride - it's a super chill and whisper quiet ride - so you won't have to worry about your hair whipping around (this was a big bonus for a curly girl like me)....
