Absolutely rude service from "LV". Supposedly the instructor. I was invited to be a demo cut. I was given a date and time to show up. I called to confirm and he was extremely rude. I asked to speak with the person I spoke with before. Asked if he was there. He said yes. I asked if he was busy, he said no. I asked if I could speak to him, he said no. He did not give an explanation until i had to ask why not. No personal calls. This was presumptuous, rude and unprofessional but not surprising since the owner is as curt and rude as him. I informed him that it was not personal and that is was for a scheduled demo cut. Instead of apologizing, he doubled down. First he stated they had already found another to cut instead which was obviously a lie. Then claimed I was supposed to come the week before and hadnt showed, even though I had confirmed just last week. Very unprofessional and rude. I First started coming to the school for cuts in the 80's. Never again. As for his reply, again, this was not a standard appointment. This was supposed to be a training cut for the students done by an instructor that I was given a specific date and time by him. He didn't like that I was asking for the person I spoke to last so he got an attitude and canceled, giving the lamest excuse and then blaming me for it. He kept saying it had been filled already. He told me 3 weeks ago of the date. As a matter of fact, that is rude and unprofessional. It sucks because my barber was awesome and a had a great experience. I wanted to keep coming but this guy ruined it for me by turning down my business because yes, I was going to...
Read moreIn a three-minute video that surfaced, the main owner of the establishment displayed blatant discrimination towards a client solely based on his legal status. Not only did she snatch the mirror out of his hand, but she also invaded his personal space after he expressed discomfort, demonstrating a complete lack of respect for his boundaries. Furthermore, when the client attempted to pay with a card, the owner demanded unnecessary personal information, including his ID, and then shamelessly announced his immigration status for all to hear. This behavior is not only unprofessional but also deeply offensive and unacceptable. It is appalling that someone in a position of authority at a barber school, a place meant to foster inclusivity and professionalism, would feel comfortable displaying such prejudice. It's evident that this behavior stems from a place of bigotry, and it has no place in any establishment, let alone one that serves a diverse community. The owner's callous attitude towards the client's recording of the incident further highlights her disregard for professionalism and basic decency. Her flippant remarks about being glad for the publicity demonstrate a shocking lack of remorse for her actions. In conclusion, I urge everyone to reconsider supporting Minnesota School of Barbering Discrimination should never be tolerated, and businesses that engage in such behavior deserve to be held accountable. It's time for Minnesota School of Barbering to address this issue and take meaningful steps towards creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for...
Read moreAfter almost a decade, unfortunately today is my last day getting a haircut at the Minnesota School of barbering. LV had to set a boundary with me that some people were uncomfortable wearing masks therefore it was an uncomfortable situation to even ask people to wear masks. Since it was presented as an issue that The barbers brought up, I asked what about setting aside barbers that are okay with wearing masks for customers. LV replied with something to the effect of "that would be like forcing people to wear masks and I can't because the covid precautions have been lifted." So The barbers who don't want to wear masks or are allergic in some way get to say but the barbers who are okay with wearing masks don't get to say? "Barbers with asthma" was also used as a reason for them to not feel comfortable wearing masks. As somebody who had childhood asthma, having a respiratory disability being weaponized against taking precautions against a virus that particularly attacks the respiratory system really took me aback. I didn't even know how to respond to that kind of gaslighting, so I didn't. I know this isn't going to deter a lot of people because this is the cheapest place in town for basic barbering services. And it's regrettable at how a lot of people have stopped caring about covid. I'm already disabled, and I've already had one round of covid which has exacerbated the problems I was already having. I don't need to become...
