Opitz deserves five stars. It is the best liquidator for designer clothes around the Twin Cities that I am aware of. They also have household items at times as well as good gifts. My mother once got a Mackenzie Childs lamp for around $500. It retails over $2000. Everything there is 70% off the original price and I have gone to the Internet several times to make sure this is correct. One of my favorite fines was a pair of Stuart Weitzman stiletto summer sandals for $20. I was scared that they would think I switched the stickers because it was such a find. The shoes were still online for sale for over $300, their original retail price was almost $500. I found another pair of Stuart Weitzman booties this past winter and got them for $41. This pair of booties is from three seasons ago, but you would never know because they are equally in style as anything current. I have other designer shoes, designer swimsuits and dresses from there. You have to be willing to take time through the racks. If you're into handbags and accessories, there are usually several options for that as well. There is a second location in St. Louis Park, but I prefer the Minnetonka location. It's less crowded and I prefer...
Read moreTo be honest, it is a fun place to shop with great prices. It's like a thrift store but all new stuff!
They have a very strict return policy which is fine. A lot of items you cannot return. Which you would think the cashier would be able to tell the customers which items they can and cannot return, but be careful this is not always the case.
The manager said that I could not return an item that her employee clearly stated the day before when I purchased the item that I could return it. She was a very rude lady who did not apologize for her employees mistake, but argued everything I said.
Finally I got the manager's supervisor's number and left. The top supervisor was very friendly and understanding and let me return for store credit.
I saw there is another location in Saint Louis Park. I would hope the store manager there is a little more customer friendly. Also, I would hope the employees are fully...
Read moreOpitz sounds like a great idea on paper. Designer men's and women's clothes for 70 percent off. But I've gone in a few time and the men's section in St louis park and Minnetonka is tiny. The designer stuff, the woman who worked there told me, was not consignment but clothing from Macy's and Nordstrom. This is what i was told. Anyway, the stuff for guys is a bunch of damaged, out of style, oddly colored and sized motley crew of yuck. No idea about the woman's. Anyway I'm super disappointed. Probably won't go back much. There just isn't one thing that wows me about this place. Staff? Nope. Clientele? Bigggg no. Merchandise? That's another no. They aren't decorated nice. They aren't clean. They aren't helpful. I guess its...
