Stopped for some 1x4×8's I was using on a deck project. Regular price $2.12 each. Price tag on display stated $1.80 if you buy 30 or more. Grabbed 30 (didn'tneed 30) went to cash register, price rang up at $2.12. I informed the cashier of the $1.80 price and showed her a pic (uploaded) of the price tag where I pulled them from. Cashier called for assistance and had them check display. Gal from building materials states she can't find that tag. I go back to the display while she is there. She pulled the tag off the display and says that's not the price, there are two other areas where they are marked at regular price. I said you just pulled off the tag that states $1.80 each for 30 or more, and she agreed stating yes she did, the tag wasn't current and she was not giving me the bulk price. I was like O.K. It's not that I wasn't getting the advertised price, it was how she rudely stated she wasn't honoring the listed price. I've never been mistaken for a "Karen", I didn't get her name, and no, I didn't ask to speak to a manager. I shouldn't have to, she, as an employee of Menards, so she represents ALL of Menards. I worked retail for almost 10 years, if we screwed up and left something on sale after the sale ended, we honored the price and weren't rude about it. I probably should have pushed the issue but I was so shocked by her response I really wasn't thinking. Maybe she was having a bad day, I don't know. Cashiers were apologetic and great. I don't know what to say, not mad just really...
Read moreWhat a terrible shopping experience. I went to get a few things from Menards' garden center. There were no employees anywhere inside. There were at least 10 guys zipping around on forklifts. Never did any of them look around or behind them as 2 almost ran into my truck. Since no one was there to help I went up front got a pick and pack slip and was told to drive around back to the guard tower and he told me to go to pick up who told me to go to the garden center. Ended up where I started... with no one around in the Garden Center. After 30 minutes of trying to get the attention of the guys zipping around I got lucky when 1 had to stop to pick something up next to where I was standing and I was able to holler loud enough to get his attention. He loaded my 3 small bags of dirt into my truck and I was on my way. (Shoulder replacement kept me from doing it myself.) What should have been a 15 minute trip took 45 minutes. I will never go there again. It was a horrible experience all around because of poor customer relations for which there...
Read moreI LOVE Menards. I give everything about the store 5 stars out of 5 stars. EXCEPT... the online shopping with pick up at the store. It is worthless. I ordered online, that part worked fine, then it came time for pick up. I drove to the lumberyard gate, no problem. 1. Issue: pulled into the online pick up parking spots. Parked and as instructed call the number on the sign. 2. Issue: No one ever answered the phone. So this is a major flaw, I used online shopping with pick up, so I didn't have to go into the store, and carry my items out to my vehicle. Issue: once inside I got an employee to find my order BUT it wasn't complete. Issue: I had to park my vehicle and go inside, but my order wasn't up front for pick up. Issue: I had to walk through the store and find my products, go up to checkout, carry items out. No different than normal shopping. So using online with pick up options is WORTHLESS. I had absolutely NO benefit ordering this way.. VERY...
