My family and I stopped going to Hollywood Theaters a few years ago because the management allowed that location to become a Mecca for unruly, disrespectful, trashy people - people of all ages and demographics who were either not raised with the manners of a well-trained beagle, or who simply have no concern for anyone other than themselves. It looks like Wynnsong is headed in that same direction. If the management is unable, unwilling, or doesn’t care enough to provide quality entertainment to loyal patrons spending a good deal of money, then I will feel justified in taking my business and money elsewhere.
While attending "The Conjuring" on opening night, we could not hear approximately 40% of the dialogue due to ignorant people who feel the need to talk LOUDLY throughout the film. This was after we had seen ushers and uniformed officers checking tickets INSIDE the theater. Where are the ushers? I should not spend the amount of money I spend on movie tickets only to be subjected to the discourteous and vulgar individuals that consider themselves and their hideous form of interactive entertainment more important than the other 90% of people in the theater.
We saw "You're Next" this weekend, and that may well be our last trip to Wynnsong. The workers are inefficient, uninformed and not overly helpful. The audio for the trailers was turned off, and we were subjected to some horrid Easy Listening radio station, rather than getting to see (and HEAR ABOUT) upcoming films.
Later, during the first climactic scene in the movie, half of the screen turned blue. After another patron informed management, the movie stopped, the house lights came on, and a worker came in and non-apologetically informed us that it would be a ten minute wait for the film to begin again, then unceremoniously left the theater without another word. This was during a 10-15 minute scene involving deaths, horrors, and jump-scares - a critical scene in a horror movie!
I have a family of five people - two adults and three children ages 11-13. A trip to the movies involving five tickets, popcorn, snacks and drinks can and does cost approximately $100. Which I wouldn't blink at one bit, if it also afforded me and my family the right to be entertained without constant frustration. I don't like wasting my money, and it looks like I won't be doing that at Wynnsong in the future. It's so sad, Wynnsong used to be the best theater around. Now incompetent and lazy management has allowed it to be complete and utter failure. At least for grown-up people, and children or teens with manners, who understand how to behave in a public setting. My children know how to behave respectfully, why is it so difficult for others? Adults even?
The movie theater in Malbis at the Eastern Shore Centre - Premiere Cinema 14 - has routinely provided a quiet and enjoyable experience. I already make the drive to shop at Malbis anyway. Looks like I'll be making the same drive for entertainment. I would encourage other patrons who go to movies with the hope of HEARING and ENJOYING the films...
Read moreMy family and I arrived at 4:40 for our 4:45 showing of Frozen 2 tonight. We had purchased tickets in advance which shown as reserved seats when we purchased. When we entered the theater our seats were taken, so we just found 5 open seats, no problem. At 5:25 when the movie had already started a group arrived saying they had purchased and reserved the entire row. There were no groupings of 5 seats remaining except under the screen. We politely informed the other customers that we had been there for 40 minutes and the movie had begun. They left and came back with a manager named Jalesha. Jalesha informed me that we had to move and initially tried to divide our family between 2 sections and we refused. I asked if she would be reimbursing is for our tickets and she said no. I repeated that the movie was in progress and this was interrupting the experience of multiple patrons. Jalesha insisted that we could have had the guests in our seats removed if we had mentioned it earlier, but would not remove the guests that were sitting in ours at that time. Jalesha moved our family of 5 to 4 seats at the bottom of the theater seating area. 15 minutes into the film I had the flashlight on my phone activated to ensure we were leaving nothing behind scanning the seats and relocating my family. I would have been more than happy to accommodate the guests if they had arrived before the movie began or if they had guests there holding the seats they reserved. It was completely unacceptable to escalate this situation as it was during the film. Although Jalehsa did give us a set of passes after the movie it is a stain on our movie experience and probably others around us.
Movies are a rare treat for my family and this one was tarnished. This affected not just my family but the rows around us that were interrupted by standing and talking guests, and management relocating people...
Read moreMy husband and I decided on a date night on Saturday night January 14, 2023. Our Usual theater Nexus was sold out of tickets for the two movies that we wanted to see. We decided to try AMC on Schillinger Rd. Instead. We ordered our tickets online about 5 hours in advance so we could skip the line and not have to wait. We arrived about 15 min early or so, and the theater was absolutely filthy, so much in fact. That we couldn't even sit in out seats. My husband went back to were the female scanned our ticket from our phone. Where she and another young man had been standing talking since we arrived and asked if they could have someone clean our seats. Because the theater was filthy. The same young man that was standing around talking came in to clean the seats. The movie was funny but I'm questioning weather we will be attending another AMC, especially in Mobile. AL. It may be in our best interest to stick to Nexus were they value the customers that keep them in business, and understand that with Covid and other germs running rampid that sanitation is the key to maintain the health of you customers. Plus my seat had a whole bucket of popcorn underneath it and popcorn on the seats. 🍿 Popcorn started from the door when you walked in. Just disgusting and unprofessional. We then had to stand and wait for our seats to be cleaned and disinfected from germs and popcorn grease. They never cleaned anything else in the movie. I had to clean popcorn out of the treads if my Antonio Melanie's (Shoes) before I could get in my car. SMH!!! Hollywood Movie aka Regal Cinemas on Satchel Paige in Mobile, AL ended up being the same way before being shut completely down, and the building was recently demolitioned. 😑 Please fix the simple things like housekeeping... We may come back once more just to see if this was a...
