Great family friendly park next to a lake.
There are covered picnic areas for group gatherings and a large playground for toddlers and kids. Public restrooms are also there with baby changing station in the woman's. There are no gender neutral bathrooms though. Not the best on hygiene but pretty good compared to most.
There's also equipment rentals nearby (I think kayakes?). There are tennis and basketball courts within walking distance as well as a big empty field. There's also a skate park nearby too.
The lake is good for swimming and fishing. Beach area has sand, with lots of goose poop so watch your step. Small boat launch near parking area though motor boats aren't allowed. Water is pretty murky and has milfoil the farther you go out. Can get pretty deep but great area for young kids with lots of shallow room to play.
The parking is fairly easy on a normal day, though can get crowded with nice sunny weather.
There's a giant trail that loops the lake that is paved with benches and garbage cans along the way. Nice spots for...
Read moreExtensive play ground big toys. Hurry up and go enjoy this place while it's still there. Word on the streets is there's is a large gaggle of Big foots strollen in sometime soon and they aim to deface tye Park. As I have heard that they're primary goal is to take the big toys and and all the fixtures of the bath room. I also heard they might try and take some of the resident ducks and do Unmentionable and unthinkable, unimaginable acts for debauchery to them. Apparently Big Foot strolls around the region with a large group of other big feeters doing horrible things to semi small towns. Nobody has proof of this, but we all know that it's true. Those "BIGGER Footers are like a pest of bugs only much bigger and totally different and maybe not as scary but also most as scary as a rattled box of bees. We're all thinking it, hell, we all know it, Im just sayin it.. does anyone know why big foot would want to take the bathroom fixtures from the...
Read moreWhat a gem of a park in Monroe! We attended a birthday party here and were surprised at all the great features. The parking lot is right next to the fantastic playground and a short walk to the lake. The covered picnic area also has two coal grills for usage. Bathroom facilities don't have a rinsing amenity, but are a short walk from the playground. The clean and lovely lake very gradually gets deeper, so it's especially great for young children. SUP, kayaking, and canoeing are super easy to do here, and my son even noticed some fish on the far side of the lake, too. With a paved path around the lake, this is an ideal spot for us to visit whenever we have time to head over to Monroe. It's definitely a park I've been...
