I was very excited when I found a sticker manufacturer that was seemingly safer for the environment, and I was even more excited when they responded to my initial inquiry in less than 24 hours to order in bulk. I answered all of their questions and sent them designs, but then I didn't hear back for several weeks. I sent a number of follow-up emails during that time, all of which were ignored. I decided to call as a last-ditch effort, and to my surprise, they reassured me that they'd be getting back to me in a matter of days and that they just needed to talk some things over. I gave them the benefit of the doubt as a small business that is likely swamped with orders.
When Dust City / Morris Magnets finally got back to me, they told me that they were "not comfortable" working with me because of the images on my stickers. The "images" on my stickers were simple cartoons with left-wing sentiments. No swear words, nothing explicit, just statements that might not be agreeable to many people who are right-wing or center-leaning.
Listen, I get it. My message isn't for everyone, and I'd never take offense to someone choosing not to work with me as a result. I do, however, take issue with being left hanging for an entire month, especially after the manufacturer had not only shown interest in producing my product, but even reassured me over the phone weeks after receiving the designs. If they were unsure about the images, they should have told me from the beginning that they'd have to check with upper management before agreeing to work with me. Instead, I got absolutely no communication at all, not until I called their office weeks later and was misled to believe they could still manufacture my stickers.
When running a business, communication is key. You can't just leave people hanging like that, especially if you have no real intention of working with them. I'm a pretty easy person to work with, but I won't tolerate disrespect. I feel disrespected by the way this situation was handled. All they needed to do was be upfront with me from the start and I wouldn't be leaving this review, regardless of whether or not they decided to take me on as a client. It's a real shame too, because I really respect what this business is doing. I hope manufacturers and consumers alike begin to gravitate towards environmentally friendly options. If Dust City / Morris Magnets wants to lead that charge, they need to improve their communication skills and provide better...

Read moreMorris magnets has been one of the easiest vendors I've worked with in a long time. Did some custom cut acrylic for a client and they turned it quickly, kitted it with outside packaging that I provided, helped find polybags to suit the item to make the packaging fully retail ready. They were incredibly flexible with changing ship to addresses, always responded quickly and got on the phone the MANY times I ended up calling, and pricing was very fair. Couldn't be...
