The Red Apple Inn — Restaurant in Monroe

February 5/2025 I stopped in for breakfast I had the biscuits and gravy With hash browns. The breakfast was pretty good. I sure wish restaurants could make a better biscuit. I’ve tried other restaurants in the area and they seem to all have the same recipe. Which is a dull white biscuit. And then they pour gravy over the top then you chop it up with your fork. Down south where my family is from you have to pull the biscuit apart with your fingers piece apart and then you pour the gravy over the top. The gravy usually comes and a gravy boat and you get two biscuits or four if you want more. I guess that’s what I’ve been looking for, but I’ll never find it around here. So the Wisconsin biscuits and gravy at the red apple are good. The two daughters took over the Restaurant and they are remodeling. It looks good. I’m happy for them ! We arrived and there was only 1 couple eating and no one else there. So i thought we would get our food pretty quick. We got in right away and then the waitress brings us water. I was holding my 1year old and she tried handing me water. I told her to just set it down on the table. Then she leaves and returns to cleaning the dining room. She is behind me filling up pepper shakers. My 1yr old sneezing uncontrollably and the smell of pepper stuck in my lungs now. She apologizes to my daughter than proceeds to fill the pepper. Then asks me if I'm ready to order. Been in there 15mins she never asked about what we wanted to drink, filled the air with pepper and expected me to already know what i wanted. Told her i wanted a new booth and she didnt understand why and wasnt happy that i wanted a new table. Ended up walking out because it...

We always pass by Monroe going out to visit our grandchildren. We always used to stop at Burger King. And a restaurant called the Swiss Alps which is not open no longer. So Friday night as we were going to visit our son and his family. I Googled a restaurant and my wife said let's try Red Apple Inn. We had a fish fry then and on our way back Sunday morning. We decided to get breakfast and had a special. It was a skillet and it was great . Very reasonable prices and family owned the daughters of the owner.
