The most disgusting theater I have ever been to. There’s a reason why it’s the emptiest of all the AMCs in LA area. We drive 30-plus minutes to get there in order to see a newer film and regret doing so. Feces, toilets that don’t stop flushing, rudeness, dereliction, incompetence, pettiness, a complete lack of empathy. We went to our final film here. Dirtiest bathrooms ever. Once, they had a turd on the toilets they didn’t clean up for the entire night, often have clogged toilets, paper everywhere. And tonight, they kept the lights on for 41 minutes after start time from a 6:30. We had to leave to tell them, missing the first 15 minutes of film from distractions with lights on, where you can’t even see the screen. People were yelling. The manager Zoe turned off all lights completely but kept them off after so we were in total darkness after the credits instead of being mindful of anyone’s comfort and turning back on the lights. I tripped and had to turn on my phone flashlight to see. The associate who refused to give her name and claimed there service was fine because we stayed (after driving 32 minutes to get there), that they had stair lighting complete darkness but there were no lights at the. The manager, Zoe, refused to give us re-entry to see the beginning of film and her employee at the desk made hand gestures, rolled her eyes and laughed at us and claimed no one else complained when around 7 people left to complain. I have never, ever received such bad service at any theater in the world. The tall woman with a black ponytail was very argumentative and petty and you’d get better service at a fast food restaurant. AMC clearly has poor training to hire these people who are so young and clearly don’t understand service.

Last time I was here, it felt like this place was going downhill. Came here for a movie, used the restroom, and none of the faucets for the last one were working, and the soap dispensers were all out of soap. So this time, I avoided the restroom. Food & snacks are still over-priced, so why would anyone bother? Before the movie starts, there's 20 minutes of commercials all sampled at a higher volume than the actual movie. Some commercial with Nicole Kidman talking about the magic of movie theaters in contrast to what I'm experiencing was a total letdown. Plus, throughout the film, the projectionist didn't even bother adjusting the lens. Last time, everything was slightly out of focus. This time when much better. That was of course much better than the time before I was here for a movie premier and had to run outside to tell them to movie wasn't playing at all, and it took another 10 minutes before playing. Is all that investor money from Wallstreetbets wasted away already, that you can't hire people at a liveable wage who care about keeping this place running properly? I'm hoping things improve for this theater and the entire plaza. This place has much to offer.

3/3/2023 Operation: Fortune - My first movie in a movie theater since the beginning of the pandemic. I loved the movie; Aubrey Plaza stole the show. A Guy Ritchie film with Jason Statham and Hugh Grant. A formula "save the world" film with plenty of action. (5 star rating for the movie) The three stars were for the AMC theater experience. The theater wasn't bad physically it was actually in very nice condition and 95% empty. The experience, however, of watching the film in the theater, something I used to do roughly three times a month; has lost its luster for me. A full 23 minutes of previews and promotions prior to the film! No thanks. I'll watch movies on my home theater setup. You know you can put it on pause, you can take a break, you can get a snack, you can go to the bathroom. I fear movie theaters are going to go the way of Blockbuster Video. Sad.

I come to this theater quite often, mind you I live closer to about 4 other theaters. I love the atmosphere and the variety of eateries there. This theater is clean and the staff is pretty cool. But today must have been the worst experience, ever! Our movie started at 1030 pm,we had dinner prior to our movie. As soon as we walk in we get greeted by a nice friendly employee that took our tickets. Then it went down hill from there. We were standing in the concession line to purchase a drink and gummy bears. Right away The cashier rudely and unprofessional said that we are not allowed to bring in any outside food or containers. After her rant I let her know that it was Leftovers from our previous dinner And we were not going to eat it in here. I told her they're packaged in a bag. And I can keep them with me. She told me that I was not allowed and that I need to either throw it away or leave it outside. Mind you, we ubered it here! I had to toss my $40 dollar leftover meal! Thats not all! After throwing away my food and walking back in, she gives me a dirty look. I should have said something there and then, but I didn't because we were already late to go watch a movie. During the movie We had finished our beverage. So I went back to the concession stand to refill it. When I got there the machines were already turned off. I approached a staff member and ask him if I can get a refill please. He then proceeded to tell me that they shut off the machines 15 minutes after the last showing (which was a lie). They were already shutting it down as soon as I got back from throwing my food away. I noticed they were tinkering with the machine's, I just didn't know what they were doing. I asked him if he can fill it up with The dispensers behind the counter, He said those are not working either. They are shut off. So I told him that I spent almost $8 on a drink. And I can't even get a refill because you decided to start shutting down early? . The movie Was barely halfway done. I was forced to purchase another $4 beverage from the vending machine. What a coincidence they have a vending machine inside of a theater. And it's geniusly located at the end of the hallway in front of the last theater. I was not the only one that went back for refills by the way!

If you're going to charge that much for a drink and offer free refills, then you should have The refills available to your customers Throughout the duration of the movie that we also paid for! C'mon dude!

The only reason I'm giving you 1 stars is because the nice guy at the ticket booth. . It was his birthday today, and he was really nice and happy...

I used to come here more often to watch movies when I lived in San Gabriel Valley before. After a very long time, I came out here for the first time after the pandemic 😷 to watch the new live-action “The Little Mermaid 🧜‍♀️ 🦀 🐠 🐚 👑 🔱 🌊” movie 🎥 🍿 with a friend who lives in Monterey Park. This AMC happens to be the closest one to her.

The parking structure is a little confusing, but I don’t really think that’s within AMC’s control since it is a parking structure that is shared by all the businesses and restaurants within this shopping complex. It can get really congested and chaotic during weekends or major holidays. But if you come during off-peak times on a regular weekday, you can usually find parking without any issues.

Overall, this AMC is your typical AMC attached to a shopping center. I like the employees, who are really courteous and friendly 🙂! When I couldn’t pull up my AMC app on my phone 📱 to scan, the employee at the concessions stand asked to search me by phone number so I could still get points for our popcorn 🍿 and drinks 🥤 purchase. She was also really patient scanning my AMC bonus card (which I have to use by 6/30 before it expires).

My friend and I decided to watch the regular digital version of “The Little Mermaid” and we really ❤️ it 😍! This really brought back wonderful memories of the original animated movie that came out in 1989 and made us feel like kids again ☺️! In addition to the classic songs from the original movie that we know very well, we ❤️ how this live-action version brought out more of Prince Eric’s personality, added more depth to all of the characters (which was not fully achieved in the original animated classic), and also included new songs that were composed for this live-action version.

I would still recommend people to come to this AMC because it is very much in the heart ❤️ of Monterey Park 🙂! Before or after a movie 🍿 or shopping 🛍️, you can always grab lunch 🍜 or dinner 🍽️ right in the complex 😁! I would recommend not coming here on weekends or major holidays when it can get really packed! Stick to off-peak hours or regular weekdays, and you...
