I give it a 1 because the massage and the facial was excellent, but here's why you can make a 5 start review into 1 when people at the front desk area are dishonest and sneaky to keep your money instead of being honest and at least refund a creidt to your first time customer since the service plus 20 % tip was way lower of what your gift certificate was for. My husband got me. a $377 certificate in which apparently he bought me two services, a facial (lvd or led) and a body massage, both about 50 minutes each. I got the body massage all good when it came to the facial the lady suggested to do a micro facial because i had a lot of dead skin, she also said no worries its the same price. Well I trusted the experts right??? wel; i wen tot the front desk to check out and the lady still says would you like to leave a tip ? I said no my husband placed the gratuity in the certificate as well $377 should covered it, well she had to add the two services together and apparently it was $270 for both services that means $55 dollars was tip per person that is a $110 tip for a $270 services that is not even 20 % gratuity per person, that is a 40 % gratuity, even the front desk lady said that is $55 per person gratuity? I even said to the ladies at the front desk, that seems way too HIGH, like 3 or 4 times, they were sneaky about it and instead of being an honest company "employees" and suggest maybe the change in facial cost you less therefore now you have a credit towards your credit card, $55 a tip for both people would have satisified todays's services. Bottom line this place is sneaky, dishonest and I will never go back to this PLACE ! I witnessed robbery in front of my face and they still ignored the fact I kept saying this is too high $110 tip for a $270 services?? Read moreAs a loyal member of this Hand and Stone for many years I am extremely disappointed with the business practice of the owner Jessica and her lack of professionalism. I will say that the quality of the services received was always good and the facility was clean. They have a policy where points are gained for services rendered as a member. I banked 18,000 points which was equal to two 1 hour massages. I am moving out of state and needed to cancel my membership. Prior to cancelling the receptionist that I booked my last appointments with informed me the banked points would be applied to future services at no additional cost to me. I booked the appointments on the spot. I did receive a cancellation document which I signed and also requested the courtesy of a phone call from one of the staff members which I never received to discuss the termination of the contract. After my last appointment I was billed for the service since cancellation of membership voids the points accumulated even though the appointments were booked prior to cancellation. That was the confusion. It would have been helpful had the staff been advised of this policy and informed me instead of misleading me into thinking that those 18,000 points earned were mine to use. There is no signage of the policy in the reception area either. When I spoke with Jessica she was unwilling to acknowledge my issues with the misleading information given by the staff and their lack of knowledge regarding corporate policy. I do not utilize massage services enough to pay $90/month. I do not have the time or the desire to go once a month, I'm a 2 maybe 3 times a year Guy! So after explaining this to the front desk I was told, "well let's put your account on freeze so you don't lose the many massages you've already paid for & have saved up & we won’t charge your card” (which was 8 massages at the time of this conversation), and I was assured the payments would stop being pulled from my account, and that the Manager would reach out to discuss further options. Well something told me not to trust them, so I blocked them from hitting up my card, which they essentially attempted a week later.
I was also told during that conversation they used to have an every other month situation which I could possibly switch to, to preserve the massages I have already paid for, but a Manager would have to approve it. It’s now been 2 months & not only have I not rec’d a call from the Manager, they literally try to charge my card every month. And when the 1 card doesn’t work, they have actually just ran a random card I’ve used there in the past. They have a good thing going, they really don’t need to act like greedy little scoundrels ......UNBELIEVABLE!!
