I gave been a loyal CVS customer for more than 10 years in various states. The Pharmacy Services used to be very good but the quality of service has declined. This review is specific to the Randolph location but some of the policies may apply to CVS nationwide. I donāt necessarily blame the pharmacists or staff they are overworked. The decline in service largely rests with corporate decision-making for CVS.
Pros: CVS is open 7 days a week compared to community pharmacies.
Cons: CVS does not let patients directly call or speak to the pharmacy anymore. This is unacceptable. Patients need to leave a voicemail and hope to hear back from the pharmacy.
I needed a critical medication to manage a chronic condition. Due to shortages CVS said they could not fill the medication. They did not make a good faith effort to advise me or attempt to find alternatives. I turned to Randolph pharmacy, an independent pharmacy. They were able to source the medicine and have been providing it me since then.
I have a special order medicine which I specifically requested be ordered ahead of time so refills do not get delayed. CVS failed to follow my instructions and requests multiple times and my refills for this medication were delayed. I had to spend an enormous amount of time to keep on top of CVS to get this filled. This affected my care multiple times. Eventually I switched to Randolph Pharmacy which has consistently filled this medication on time.
I signed up for CVS to get prescriptions delivered. Multiple medications that were not controlled were not āeligibleā to be delivered without a reason. CVS is engaging in misrepresentation of how āconvenientā the delivery service is. Randolph pharmacy is able to comply with New Jersey laws and provide consistent delivery service of various medications.
Bottom line I have received excellent quality of care and service from Randolph Pharmacy which is far smaller and significantly more resource constrained than CVS. If this community pharmacy can provide that level of service thereās no reason CVS cannot. CVS is a failure as a pharmacy. Theyāre burning their staff out and quality of service is poor as well.
I strongly encourage patients to explore options with their local community pharmacies. CVS is choosing to provide a poor quality of service. CVS corporate is failing to adequately staff their pharmacies as well. Please vote with your business and take...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhen I went to pick up my inhaler it was a few minutes after 8pm which is closing time and I understand. Two technicians were assisting customers and the pharmacist of whom I did not receive the name of told me they were closed and could absolutely not help me. I stated that it was for a rescue inhaler and the need for the inhaler at that time. Granted, I was lucky that they were still on location but the pharmacist insisted I could not be helped. I then explained the severity of the need for the inhaler and all I needed to do was pay as it was already called in. The pharmacist was extremely rude to me and told me, ā you need to plan ahead better.ā Followed by, āif the registers shut off they shut off and thereās nothing we can do.ā My thoughts were, āYes, let me hold off and make a more time efficient asthma attack..ā I kept my thoughts to myself as the pharmacist disappeared and the tech acknowledged they could help me.
This interaction with the pharmacist was extremely unprofessional and down right rude. I would imagine that a pharmacist who fills prescriptions day in and day out would have some sense of understanding for certain prescriptions such as a rescue inhaler and not make an issue of how inconvenient it is that I was asking to pick up my inhaler. I would hate to ever have someone else go into this location with a more severe issue than mine and deal with this pharmacist just a few minutes after closing. If I could leave a rating lower than one star...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI used to leave good reviews because I felt like the people who worked here were doing their best, even when I read tons of bad reviews. Unfortunately, I now have to agree and will be transferring all my prescriptions.
The pharmacy is awful. They do not pick up the phone regardless of time of day. I was on hold for a really long time yesterday and today. The man I spoke to today when I finally got through was extremely rude. Our family dermatologist left a prescription twice on their voicemail, which they denied getting. They would not call her to get it. The dermatologist took the time later today to call it in since they don't seem to get it off the voicemail and the man was extremely rude to her and insisted it was over the counter, and not a prescription. He's wrong. And the dermatologist's office was loath to call because they said this pharmacy never takes them off hold.
The pharmacy has deteriorated significantly in the past few years. They used to have some really nice people working there. It's not worth the amount of time it takes to get simple prescriptions filled. Their app does not work either. I've tried...I'm...
