I have enjoyed painting at this studio for several years. Until this year, I've always had good experiences. Twice this year, I've brought friends into the Pink Pig and been absolutely embarrassed by how they were treated. In July, my friend chose a piece that clearly had $15 written with a pen on the bottom of the piece. When the worker came over to write down our prices, we showed her the $15. She must have contacted the owner because she came back after a few minutes and told my friend the piece was actually $30. She had already painted it!! After my friend said she was only willing to pay the price written on the item (or they could keep it), she came back and said they would accept the $15 but it definitely wasn't with a very friendly tone. I was so embarrassed because I had gone on and on about how great the place was. Then, this past week, I brought a friend in who painted a mug. I guess she put too much paint on it, and the paint ran off into the pottery beneath it when they fired it. This was her first time and NOBODY gave her instructions about using too much paint. The worker only said to leave room at the bottom for the paint to run, and so she did. I knew this piece had a lot of "emotion" attached to it (that's all I'll share if my friend's business), and so I asked if she could get a credit with the store so she could come back and try again but with better instructions this time. At first, they didn't want to do anything, like she was just "out of luck" so to speak. I expressed my disappointment, and they finally agreed to give her half credit. She was upset, and again, I was embarrassed. While the worker did show some compassion over the situation, whoever was in the back room making the decisions DID NOT. My friend enjoyed the experience of being in the studio so much that she had already planned to bring a bunch of women in to paint for a bridal shower, and she would have come back over and over again. Now she won't, and...
Read moreVery disappointed! I scheduled a birthday party for my daughter several months ago, thinking it would be fun as we had been to several parties here before. Our party was AWFUL! They did not have enough pieces for our party guests to paint. They offered a few bowls and plates, but the kids preferred animals. My daughter wanted to paint a dog and they didn't have any. How can you be out of ceramics to paint when I had the party scheduled for months ahead of time? Then, our party staff member was not around for most of the party. I had to track her down to ask for more paint and she forgot to do the birthday plate until I reminded her. We almost missed people to be on the plate. There was no music playing like there usually is and the party just felt blah. Not like usual. I was told to come back the following Saturday to pick up everyone's creations, but I could not make it. I went today, a week and half later, and they couldn't find our party ceramics!!!!! How do you lose 11 pieces of ceramics?! They finally found them in the cabinet and then I had to wait for them to get them ready. This party was a FAIL all the way around. I will never have another...
