I always knew my Guild Acoustic/Electric was a diamond in the rough. I bought her at Sam Ash in Madison. I fell in love with her at first sight! I call her “Blondie”. The Sam Ash service department was supposed to “dress her down”, round the frets and lower the action. They did nothing at all to it. Meanwhile the pickup inside was ill-fitting and I couldn’t record or perform with it. Still, her response, her expression, her dynamics were so outstanding that I credit her as well as my Partner, Jim Ware, as a Songwriting Partner! As we embark on recording over 30 new songs, we needed a reliable luthier for Blondie who could see and hear that Diamond in the rough. We’d heard wonderful things about Shiloh Music. So last Friday we had the pleasure of meeting Jay! He immediately understood what she needed and in the time it took to find the Slide I’ve searched for for years to fit my tiny finger, Jay presented us with the Blondie I always knew she could be. He IS “The Guitar Whisperer”! I never knew she had such sustain! Or that her pickup could capture her unique tone and resonance so perfectly! I love recording her now and I am ‘over the moon’ with her beauty and how ergonomic she is thanks to Jay! His intuitive approach brought out the diamond in my Blondie! And all at a reasonable price! Plus of course I found the Slide I always dreamed of! I give 20 stars to Shiloh Music and all the wonderful staff, and another 20,000 stars to Jay!!! (Can I do that?) Thank you, Man. We HIGHLY recommend Shiloh...

There was a lot of apprehension when we moved from Murfreesboro to Mount Juliet about finding a place that would provide quality guitar lessons for my 10 year old. His music lessons were going so well that I didn’t want him to skip a beat. And he sure did not when we chose to give him music lessons at Shiloh Music Center. My son takes guitar lessons with Jules and he always walks out of there with so much excitement about what he’s learned. It’s a nice cross of theory and playing the music he wants to play. He walked out of his last session saying,”Lessons were so fun today! I literally got to jam with Jules!” As a parent, you trust a lot of your child’s growth and creativity to their instructors. Not only have I seen continued development, but his passion continues to grow and grow. My 8 year old daughter wanted to take vocal lessons and there was no doubt that we would stay with Shiloh. Her lessons start next week and I can’t wait to see her growth as well. Additionally, my son has had an interest in playing multiple guitars in the store. And he will come 30 minutes early or 30 minutes after his lessons to play the guitars that are displayed in the store. Paul and Davey have never given us any trouble. They’ve also been able to answer any questions about accessories and equipment without the pressures of up-selling. Thank y’all for your exceptional care! Such a well-rounded music store. This will be our go-to for everything music for years and...

JAMES! The man, the myth, the legend. This place was highly recommended by my bass player after a really bad experience with guitar set up and wiring debacle at another place. I didn’t even know this place was here. I want to start by saying, this man, James - listennnnns. He makes suggestions. He lets you know where the possibilities and boundaries are with what you are trying to accomplish with your guitar set up. In 35 yrs of playing (and never really understanding the ins and outs of pickup wiring, switches and pots, etc) I have learned more than I ever thought I would know - and am enjoying a custom set up perfectly taylored for my current playing and future ambitions - in just a few weeks. Parts are scarce, people are busy, but pure customer care (and workarounds and any path to achieve the desired result) and HUMILITY is alive and well at Shiloh Music. These guys are a joy to be around, share thoughts with, and earned my complete trust even in just the first visit. I now have 3 rehabilitated guitars, and a gazillion options for tones and flexibility all because somebody cared enough to take a minute and figure it out, not to mention the education I received in the process. 11/10 recommend. I’ll never go anywhere else.

Sincerely - the guy who always talks too much and asks too many questions and probably drove you guys...

I started taking lessons with Jason Jordan here in October 2018. He's crazy talented, has years of experience playing and teaching, and (important for beginners like me), has loads of patience! A few lessons in, I was finding my old guitar (a dreadnaught) a bit hard to handle, so I picked up a mid-size Blueridge guitar at Shiloh on Black Friday. I had them restring it for me with some Elixir strings (because they last longer), and they're always happy to answer questions or help me adjust it anytime. What I love about Shiloh is the friendly, attentive staff. With purchase like this, it's especially important to buy local because you're going to need service and support in the years ahead. They've been super patient and helpful to me! I recommend them both for lessons and for purchases. I'm still taking lessons with Jason (although online right now due to the pandemic), but maybe I'll see you around once it's safe to venture out again! In the meantime, I'm doubling down on lessons to help me pass the time on lockdown.

Shilo Music has been in the same are at least 35 years because I purchased musical equipment there 35 years ago and more recently. It used to be closer to the Hermitage area of Nashville in the 80's and 90's on Lebanon Road. The guys who work there are musician's musicians. They know their stuff and have top quality instruments, amps and gear at very competitive prices. They also have a huge selection crammed into their building. It's really nice to see and support a local businesses that has been in business for so long!

The guys seem like they could handle a quick setup of any style guitar or bass. Nice place too! They offer lessons and financing as well, I believe. Anytime you find yourself in ole' Mt. Juliet, TN stop on by and check out their special of the week! Great place!!!
