Nelson Park is one of the many parks connected to each other. It's offers relaxing trails that are wheel chair accessable. Anyone can explore the connected paths and there are signs warning of an active train. The park hours are 8am-11pm however it does open before then. No overnighter parking. There are park grills, places to picnic and trash receptors which keeps the park cleaned up. At Nelson Park you see people in strung hammocks reading a book. You will spot folks floating down the Chippewa river by tube. There is a business you can contact. There is at least one man made beach but there are other beach fronts in other parks. All children need supervision no lifeguard on duty. You will find a water park if you stay on the trail to Island Park. Dogs are welcome on a leash and bags are recommend to bring for clean up. The park looks great, has a great view of the river, as well as some very nice places to sit and watch the water. You can really tell that the people maintaining the park care about their job, there's all sorts of little things in the landscaping that shows real care.

Read moreNice park and good to walk through. Behind the train tracks is a huge playground and pavilions. Will definitely be going back. However, the one concerning this is th train tracks. Not sure if they are decommissioned or not. Parts look very old yet other parts look like they are still used. If they are still active there really should be some signs stating that.
