I was so excited to try the fruit at this place. My husband is really into supporting local and small businesses and REALLY loves fruit! He especially wanted nectarines. When we found them there was a worker stocking them. We waited respectfully for about a minute or two and then, without reaching around her, started trying to find a few ripe ones. Even though she saw us there she did not move aside to give us more room like you would expect, she just kept stocking. As I was checking the ripeness of the nectarines by gently squeezing them she turned around and very rudely told me to "quit mashing on the fruit." I told her I was just checking the ripeness and she said "you're going to leave bruises on them and plus they are ALL ripe." I responded and said "most of these are extremely hard and unripe." She said to just get some- they're all the same. As someone who has worked in customer service- there's always a polite way to get your point across. If she really thought I was being too rough she could have nicely asked me to please be more gentle. But no, she was extremely rude in her behavior and words. We left right then and decided we are never going back. Especially since the quality is the same as any supermarket. We really would have loved supporting a small, local business. Very...
Read moreA bit underwhelming. There's a surprising amount of commercial products for a farmer's market. Prices are a bit high, which I'm ok with if it's going to the farmers directly. Not sure if it is though. Most of the stuff is just the same as you get anywhere else.
They claim to have red (ripe) Jalapenos, but they are in fact Fresno peppers. They also have Cayenne peppers, which are also not ripe. They carry Serrano, but again not ripe. I wonder why they would bother carrying so many varieties of (improperly labeled) peppers that are not ripe. I have visited many, many times asking if they have any and they kept telling me to check back later. Today I finally got an employee telling me that they will probably never have what I'm looking for. Very disappointed.
Imagine buying anything else unripened... Could you imagine buying apples, or oranges that were terribly unripe? How about unripe plums, or squash? It's so frustrating that they would have told me for months that they would have ripe peppers I could get, then keep stringing me along until finally admitting they won't...
Read moreBeen getting my yellow flesh watermelon exclusively from this location for years. Luv the twins, they provide good customer service. Their produce was featured in a photo that I submitted for healthy eating--for pet mini pigs lol!! Yes, Country Farms either location is where I get free produce and fruit seconds to feed livestock that I train. Managers at both locations are very practical, kind people. And since I am currently employed at an organic produce farm, I can attest that the foods they sell are freshest, attractively presented, clean and healthy. A favorite place for friends and family to shop. Psssst...they sell caramels by the baggie near the register; in addition to the caramel apple wraps always near apple bins. Don't forget to browse the "reduced for quick sale" boxes--jam...
