1st off I'm new to airsoft and this was my 1st time playing at an indoor field. The two fields are really cool. The games were awesome. The website doesn't really state that ammo is completely provided with a rental which is a huge selling point (only states 1 mag). The majority of the staff is super nice and very helpful. This place deserves 5 stars with the field, game play, and their staff but they did fall short on other aspects.
1st off once you pay and they take your money there was no instruction as what to do or where to go next. Communication was lacking but after asking a few employees you eventually figure it out. (To be honest, this may not be normal.)
My personal guns were too hot for the field limit at 360 fps. They were nice enough to offer me thier rental at no charge and offered to cut my springs for $20 per gun and here was my mistake. I was told they would have them back to me right away. Almost 2 hours later I got one back but my other one would be finished in 10 minutes so my son got to use the one for only 1 round. I had to leave came back 3 hours later and had to wait another hour. They had my gun for almost 7 hours and was told numerous times 10 more minutes this irritated me the most.
Once I came home I noticed my pin that holds the battery cover on had a wire jammed in the pin so you could not access it. Apparently they don't know how to work on a 552 and they sale them. The M4 after playing a few short rounds at home burnt up. Now this gun is brand new and this was the 2nd time used (Lancer Tactical M4). Maybe this was just chance or bad luck but I completely regret paying 45 dollars and both guns had/have issues after being returned to me (Yes, I know they said $20 per gun but I was charge another $5 because of too many screws).
They are understaffed in the shop. The techs come out from working on guns to take care of customers and they get swamped so it's difficult to actually spend time looking for a gun to buy if you have questions unless you wait until the crowd clears out which probably explains why it took 7 hours to cut a spring on my gun. Gear and gun wise the pricing is reasonable.
Outside of the shop this place is impressive it is diffently a well oiled machine especially with a large crowd. They are very safety conscious and are good about separating groups according to skill or experience.
If one was to open an airsoft field this would be the place to take notes and learn from with the exception of the shop and lack of information not given when checking in which is an easy fix.
Highly recommend this place to play at but be cautious if they work on your guns if it's not an M4 and the shop is not a good place to spend time looking at guns if they are busy, if you're looking to buy which is unfortunate because they have some good inventory but it's mostly Valken. Those behind the counter are very knowledgeable about...
Read moreI had my birthday at the field in December. Now we paid alot for the party and we hardly played at all. We got about 4 games in a 2 hour long party. They kept us off the field for to long. To start the fileds aren't to bad there pretty fun. The staff is bad though, upon coming in me and my brother brought our guns and everyone I brought with me used rentals. My brother just unzipped his gun bag to put his barrel cover on and one of the refs just ran over and yelled at him not even giving him a chance to get it on and we hadn't even started to play so his gun didn't have bbs and the barrel was on the table. After that my friends I invited we're told to get vests and there were masks in the same room and they grab them and the ref goes oh don't wear those they haven't been cleaned yet you'll get masks up stairs. This first ref wasn't to bad but he didn't seemed interested in being at work but he did his job fine untit he grabbed a gun and started to play with us. I found that very unprofessional even though it was only my birthday party group. After that about 2 games before our party was over we got 2 new refs that hadn't been with our group since the start. They just talked and didn't even walk around the field to make sure we weren't cheating. Then the game finished and everyone but me and my one friend who can barely see without his glasses were the last two on the field. My barrel cover was on and mag out and my friend's rental had mag out chamber clear. He knew he wasn't suppose to take his mask off but the first ref we had let him put his glasses back on when he was last on the field. The women that was one of our new refs got up in his face screaming get your mask on. When I mean in his face she was like a drill sergeant in his face and he said ok but she didn't chill out. My other friend also bought a Glock from them and was told all day by a manager and the first ref that his Glock was fine in his pocket with the mag in just as long as it wasn't taken out. The women ref saw it and flipped out again screaming at him until one of the managers told her to chill. I have also done there battle Royal game in October which was a mess because nothing was explained correctly at all. There prices are high and the shop is definitely over priced in some areas. The staff all act different and allow different things and don't handle situations like professionals. There player base are ok but it's alot of kids and cheaters that are barely yelled at. This place would be better if the staff was better. Will I go back? maybe in a couple months to see it the staff is better. If battlegrounds wants to reach out to me about how there staff needs to improve please message me. Because the place has potential but really needs some...
Read moreI have posted many reviews about this place and I will probably continue to do so. This place is alright. I have gone to many air soft places but this one is on its own. Its bad enough that its in one of the worst places in Pittsburgh, but there are a number of other things also. The first thing is the refs.I have met a lot of refs at a lot of places but this place has some of the worst. They have no patience with anyone and are air headed. They don't pay much attention to players in the game so people cheat, swear, and push each other out of the way and stuff ALL the time. People don't call there hits and they don't use the bang bang rule at times. This one time I was behind cover with this kid and he said that he was using 2 round burst and the refs couldn't tell it wasn't semi and he played almost all day like that. The refs need to do better at their job. Next, is the entry price. Its about $25 to play for 4 hours. I know its indoors but that's insane. I could go to Mercer and play for $5 on Fridays. After that, is the rules. I know that it is a "Family oriented place" and all, but most indoor places I've gone to have allowed full auto or at least some type of burst fire at their place. Also once again its not very family oriented or sportsman like if people swear, cheat, and are aggressive to each other. I mean really. Honesty, integrity, and respect are literally painted on your wall but there seems to be a lack of it. For example, on the website it states that you can rent barrel covers, but when an employ tells me I need one for my gun and I ask if I can rent one and he tells me I can't, it either makes me think this place either has a lack of communication, or is just plain dishonest. Another major issue I see, and I think everyone can is that it takes forever to get back into another game. You play for a short 10 minuets, and then wait 35 to get into another one. Even on slow days the wait is very long. They either need to include more people in a match or make the games longer because you only play 2-3 times in a hour. Sometimes, when I think about going airsofting, I think I might as well just set some stuff up in my backyard and play with friends for free. This place has a lot of potential, but there needs to be some fixes. I love air soft, and it is a new sport that has only been around for a while, but when a new air soft player feels burdened or has a bad experience, it may drive them away from the sport, therefor air soft loses popularity and dies. I understand that gun crime has driven up insurance for this sport but this place has so much potential, they could really make...
