Planned a weekend trip from Chicago to Pictured Rocks and knew we wanted to stay at Roam Inn and eat at Tracey's. It reminded us of Longman & Eagle with an inn and well thought out approach to dining all under one roof. Booked the fantastic lake facing Room 18 for a Saturday night, rooms booked up quickly and was not able to book a room online for Friday night. I called a couple weeks later and asked to be put on a wait list, the gentleman informed me that there was a room available but it was smaller then the rest and isnt listed online and typically reserved for people who show up day of. Room 6 was smaller, the layout wasnt great with a view of an internal courtyard but it was at a fraction of the nightly rate of the other rooms. The staff did warn us that it was smaller so it set our expectations. They also took care of transferring our bags to Room 18 the next day without a hitch. Overall Roam Inn had a well concepted design, quality materials, smart use of technology through out and friendly/helpful staff which made for an amazing stay. You also get a table and 10% off at Tracey's which we ate at twice and I would put up against many highly touted restaurants in the Midwest.

We were referred by my parents. I was excited to stay here for our 10 year anniversary. Payed $335 after taxes for the view pictured. I was expecting a lake view with that price. Asked for a military discount and they said they do not do that. I brushed it off and was looking forward to having drinks and dinner at the nice restaurant to celebrate and we went down to get a table and they said there weren't any available, so i asked if we cld have drinks at the bar and they said the bar stools were reserved as well. So we went to the EJ's and ordered deep fried pierogi's and went to the East Channel Brewing company and made the best of our time. I am not a complainer by any means and try to stay positive but we were not happy at all with our stay.

We just spent 2 nights at this snazzy contemporary inn in beautiful Munising. We booked the accessible room which really was fully accessible and super comfortable too. And our friend in the adjacent room was comfie too. Everything is top notch here, from the out of the ordinary continental breakfast, to the incredible view, the various staff, the decor, the food at Tracy's etc. But the best part was Stephanie, who was managing front of house, and multi-tasking as well. This woman went above and beyond in every way, a warm welcome, knowledgeable about what to do in the area, smart about accessibility issues, a champion about the owner's other businesses, and just an all round authentic ambassador who knows what hospitality is all about!

Unique inn with relatively clean rooms and a great view. We counted 8 spiders hanging from the ceiling throughout our room and bathroom...little unsettling going to sleep. Spider webs on top of lamps, top of patio door curtains and in corners of room. A little more attention given to these things would be appreciated. Somewhat awkward walking through restaurant with your bags and such to go to your room as other people are sitting down and eating. Seating could be rearranged to avoid this and open up other door for inn guests to enter and exit from. Road construction taking place in front of inn, but view from our balcony was lovely. Overall pleasant experience.

Overall, room 13 was clean, quiet, and spacious. We also had a nice selection of teas and coffees to choose from. The bathroom also had a deep tub, which was a nice surprise. For the price of nearly $400.00 with tax for 3 nights, it was disappointing that there was no free breakfast included, as many other comparable inns & hotels would at least include a simple breakfast. We stayed for 3 nights during the last week of April. Unfortunately, so many things, including the restaurant at the inn, were closed. However, we still had a blast exploring the national and state parks in UP.

From what we can tell, Roam Inn is a pretty "new" place. It was very clean, but the rooms were small for the price you pay and they lacked basic amenities like extra outlets for people to plug in CPAP machines, a garment bag, trash cans that can hold more than a couple items, a door with a tight seal, and while I appreciated the toilet paper roll having a place to set my cell phone, it was far too low. In addition, there is no "view" like they claim in photos and online. Our view was into someone's back yard...we kept the blinds pulled the entire time.
