An 8 person group of friends came up from GA to play in the cold of the UP. We all had some on rope experience and wanted to try out ice climbing. We scheduled a guided trip and had David and Emily as climbing guides for the day. Both were well spoken experts of their trade. Both provided easy to understand technique advice and solid personal expert tips. All 8 of us climbed multiple routes in a great location that was accessed by a 4 mile round trip hike from the trucks. 10 out of 10, would do it again. Read moreI somehow left my warm hat at home, in Ohio and my husband grabbed two gloves of the same hand! 🤦♀️😂 We were going on the Pictured Rocks Cruise, in 40 degree weather with wind and water spray. This was the only place, when I did a Google search, that gave me hope. I found a really cute hat, but the selection was somewhat limited, but not horrible, and my husband got a nice pair of gloves. I thought they were a bit pricey on the hat though... but they came through in a time of need! The staff was friendly...

I understand there are shortages, but if you work at an outdoorsy outfitters place you should probably start googling some of the brands you organize on the racks. Hell, maybe even watch a YouTube video about climbing gear BEFORE ICE FEST. The gear is always top notch quality and their return policy’s amazing so I can’t knock them too bad.
