Fashion Place — Local services in Murray

Seeing that there are over 10,000 reviews, 😵‍💫 (jk that’s great!!!😁🥳) I am 100% sure my review won’t make any impact. But I see no harm in throwing in my two cents, and pouring my heart into a review for Fashion Place. This mall holds a very special place in my heart! ❤️

All over the US malls are dying out. Online shopping has taken over the market for various reasons (many of which we can honestly get behind). But amongst the wreckage of where other malls have failed, Fashion Place is still thriving! Back in the day malls were the shiz! Somehow (maybe because it’s open on Sunday 😁😃), this mall has managed to preserve the past and offers its visitors a glimpse of what all malls used to be.

Every time I’ve stopped by the parking lot has been packed, the shops full of people, and a constant stream of revenue flows in and out the doors. Though it may be frustrating at times, (especially around the holidays 🙄) it warms my heart to see that this establishment isn’t going to be shut down anytime soon.

I’ve been shopping at this mall for easily over 10 years. From shopping as a child with my family (trying my first coffee, picking out a bras when I became a woman, looking for prom dresses, picking out clothes for trips, shopping for my new baby brother, shopping for the an upcoming school year), to more recently shopping for my first apartment, this mall has always been a huge part of my life.

They have a wide range of my favorite stores. Every time I stop by I never leave empty handed. Dillard’s has a great variety of Fossil purses and plenty of clothing options that I love. And then there’s the Nordstrom clearance rack I always have to hit. Both Dillard’s and Maceys have huge selections of any sort of dress you could want and shoes. And I always score at H&M. Most impressive (I think), is the surviving Victoria Secret and Pink stores where I get all my underwear and bras. I used to shop at another Victoria Secret but it shut down. There’s also Buckle where I find the best pants and a kitchen store I like to poke around!

Going to the mall is just something special and there’s an obvious routine or rather tradition to it. This "tradition" might not look the same to everyone but mine goes like this:

First you get all fancied up. You pick out your most stylish clothes, put on your makeup, pick out your newest shoes, and then head out the door. It’s imperative to look your very best. Once you get to the mall, you instantly grab a caramel ice storm from Nordstrom’s for an essential caffeine and sugar boast. Also don’t forget the buttery pretzel bites from Pretzelmaker! Now it’s time to begin your journey through the materialistic paradise. It’s traditional to bring close girl friends along, and in between sugary sips of coffee and greasy bites of pretzel everyone discusses what guys are hot, and what guys aren’t. Sometimes you might get hungry, so you head over to the food court and enjoy some subpar food, but because you’re in the mall it just tastes better. You walk around aimlessly for hours, giggle and dance around in the dressing rooms, and get loads of electronic-free entertainment by merely looking at what you wish you could have, and being so happy to afford even a piece of it.

The mall is made up of expensive dreams. These dreams consist of being a popular fashion model, actor, or character from a movie (i.e Anastasia from 50 shades, Bella from Twilight); basically being a type of person who can look killer everyday - perfect hair, perfect makeup, perfect body, and a closet filled to the brim with cute outfits and endless ways to style yourself. There’s no better feeling than leaving the mall with something new; it makes you feel like you’re part of that world for just a second. Plus it’s sexy in a way to have a new article of clothing, and it’s exhilarating to have something new in your closet for awhile (until it gets boring).
