If I could not to leave any star, I would!!! I had a horrible experience with OfficeMax in Myrtle Beach SC yesterday evening. I run out ink in the middle of printing for work related project and decided to go to the OfficeMax as first choice instead of Walmart (Walmart is even closer to me). I got there and the door was already locked, thought they close at 9pm (turned out they close at 8pm) then looked at my phone and it was 7:57pm. So they locked the door before closing time (there is another review on google review saying the same thing: sign says close at 8pm, door locked at 7:57pm). I saw there were still customers inside and looking around for shopping and saw an employee standing at a register, so I knocked on the window to get her attention. She saw me first and pretended she didn't see, finally she came to the front door after I keep knocking on the window. Speaking through the glass door, she told me that they close at 8pm and I responded but it wasn't 8pm yet and the door's already locked. and I explained to her all I needed was a couple of inks and I know what I need, so I can just grab them and pay with no time wasted and since there were still people inside looking around, I will be in and out quicker than them. She kept saying we are closed and I can't open the door. She went back to the register and spoke on her headphone, so I thought she was asking for supervisor and waited outside. During my time waiting outside, this employee came back to the front door twice to let two customers out, so I asked her again each time to please just let me grab the inks I needed badly and she kept saying we closed and there were still other customers inside and not ready to check out. In conclusion, if they didn't lock the door few minutes before closing time, I could be able to get in and pay before their actual closing time, and instead of that employee kept telling me they are closed and let me in, then I would have spent $126 on inks in the store, but I guess they don't need that money. I went to Walmart and happily spent it there and got the inks I needed to finish my printing project. I will never set foot in the OfficeMax ever again and my company and I will never spend a penny there ever, since they refuse the customer who beg to go in to spend money there. After all they are not the only one sells...
Read moreWent here for the 1st time on Saturday September 20th 2025 with my parents. We were looking for an office chair for my parents office in our house. If you don't know Office Max, it is like an Office Depot with more options, and like a Staples that sells printers, computers, office furniture, artwork, and more! We parked, walked in towards the back where the office chairs and furniture was. Actually saw alot of desks that I liked, and could have brought when I was looking for a desk back in like March/May. One even had lots of storage that came with the desk. Again, not that we were looking for desks but, if anything should have came in this place sooner! Anyways, we looked at office chairs, and they had plenty of all shapes and sizes. One good part is that they had them all out of their boxes so that we can physically sit on them. My parents found a chair that they liked, however, it was a little pricey. So unfortunately we walked out without buying anything, But will keep this store in mind for our...
Read moreWe fell in love with a desk they had in store but, unfortunately they were out of stock. We asked the associate if we could purchase the floor model and his manager came up. The associate asked if we could get a discount since it was a floor model. We didn’t ask for it because it was a great price, but the associate just asked I’m assuming because he’s heard of that before (makes sense!). Instead of speaking with us, she proceeded to tell the associate that she was “absolutely not selling that desk at a discount because it hasn’t been used so it’s brand new.” Instead she will be charging us an assembly fee. 🤣 The situation was so absurd! Her attitude was terrible and tone was almost aggressive toward the associate. We were just asking a simple question, not being combative in any way. I felt bad for the associate because she put him in a very uncomfortable situation. We would have purchased that desk if it wasn’t for her negativity. On the plus side, the store was very bright...
