Update on the 20% gratuity: I have reached out to the team and provided my receipt. They have admitted the staff's mistake and promised it won't happen again, so I trust them to keep their word.
They offered a refund for the tip, which we declined. Our intention was to bring this to the owner’s attention to prevent this from happening in the future and avoid the loss of future business. ——————— I can't deny that the food was good. However, they charged me a 20% gratuity for a party of two without informing me before I handed over my card. (This also happened at Thai Bistro, which I believe has the same owner; they automatically added an 18% tip without notice. I had no issue with the amount itself, as I was going to leave a 20% tip anyway). Based on that experience, I had assumed it was their standard policy when I saw a 20% gratuity on my receipt at this place. However, I just checked their website, which states an 18% gratuity will be added to parties of 6 or more. So, why was I charged 20% for a lunch with just two people? This is not about the money, I never give a 0 tip. I just didn’t understand why they charged the tip without telling me. This dishonest practice has left me too disappointed to return.
I'm sharing this not only out of disappointment but also to warn potential customers: always check your bill before paying. Furthermore, I want the owner to understand that this is not a sustainable way to run a business and will inevitably drive...
Read moreMy wife and I love going out and try new restaurants. We are pretty picky eaters, so only a few places make it onto our “Go Back” list. And Lemongrass is certainly one of them! All we can say is Wow! This place literally blew every other Thai restaurant in the area out of the water. We craved for Thai authentic taste, and this place delivered it.
We were immediately impressed by the luxurious feel of the space, marble tables, golden silverware, elegant water glasses, it all felt curated out of Vogue Magazine. But guess what? The food prices are surprisingly affordable! And the taste? Absolutely no joke. We started with the Fresh Summer Rolls, packed with crisp, fresh ingredients, very refreshing yummy appetizer we could say. Then, we ordered Larb Chicken Salad, Lemongrass soup (Tom Yum), Spicy Ginger Crispy Chicken. To round out the meal, we added Thai Shrimp Fried Rice for balance. Tom Yum soup was the right balance of sour and spicy favor. Larb Chicken was so flavorful we couldn’t get enough of it. And Spicy Ginger Crispy Chicken? One of a kind. this has got to be their signature dish “it was absolutely delicious”. Last but not least, Thai Shrimp Fried Rice, it was fantastic! We loved the smoky aroma of soy sauce in it. We’re so glad we discovered Lemongrass and truly enjoyed every dish we tried....
Read moreI recently stumbled upon this new gem of a restaurant, and I’m already planning my next visit! First thing came to mind when I walked inside, I was struck by how spotless everything was. The décor is stylish and inviting. I love variety of cuisines but consider myself fairly new to Thai dish. The staff were super friendly and attentive. They took the time to explain the menu and even made suggestions. I ended up ordering the famous Pad Thai & Som Tum Thai, paired with Thai Iced-Tea for my drink. And Just like that, ! I think I’m in love! Oh my! Pad Thai noodles was stir fried to perfection, with just the right balance of flavor and texture. Som tum was made of papaya mix with sour, sweet, salty and a touch of chili heat that made my mouth water in the best way. I’m so happy I’ve found my new favorite spot in Myrtle Beach. That was the first visit at Lemongrass but it definitely...
