Nags Head Dolphin Watch — Attraction in Nags Head

Terrific adventure on a pontoon boat! I was hopeful to see 2 dolphins and hear about the history... Completely blew my expectations out of the water! We saw 30-50 dolphins all around our boat, twice. Babies with larger dolphins, 2-5 dolphins swimming side by side and shoulder to shoulder, some slapping their tails, some jumping out of the water. From 5 feet to 50 yards from the boat. The marine biologist guide was friendly, knowledgeable and quick to point out behaviors. The captain was very capable, turning our boat to get better views as the pod moved around us. We stopped for 30 minutes watching, then traveled further to Manteo. As we returned, we stopped again to watch dolphins for another 20 minutes. Fabulous family fun! I am VERY unhappy with this business. My family and I wanted to do a dolphin tour on our last day of vacation. We were there at 1:30pm and were told that the next boat went out at 3pm. We told staff how many people were in our group and were told that we didnt need to pay or anything at that time. We returned at 2:45pm to register/pay and were told at that time that we would be unable to go because the boat was already full. The manager did not apologize or offer to correct this in any way. We waited for an hour and a half with 2 small children and wasted/ruined our last day of our vacation. I will NEVER NEVER NEVER return to such an unprofessional business, nor would I EVER recommend this place to any of my...

It was okay. I got there early, like they said. But the guy you could tell had no training, and I felt bad for him. I ended up waiting almost an hour, and then upon boarding, we had to switch our reservations because a lady insisted on her dog being aboard. My 13-year-old son is allergic, and the owner helped us switch our reservations to tour with another group. I was upset over having waited an hour just to find out about the damn dog and making us the ones that had to leave. I appreciate the owner helping us and management being so understanding. But a no animal rule should be in place for us that have allergies. Different groups should be set aside, just for...
